We are seeking a dynamic and driven Projects Delivery Manager to join our Fabrication & Assembly (F&A) Project Management team. In this role, you will be the key to ensuring our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will report directly to the Director of Fabrication and Assembly Operations, West - North, and will play a pivotal role in our success.
This position needs to based in the North Central America (NCA) region (Canada, USA, and Mexico), we offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. This role involves up to 30-40% travel to customer sites or other Metso offices for training and collaboration.
What You'll Do:
Develop and Maintain Processes: Create and map the 'Process Way of Working' for F&A Project Managers, ensuring alignment with Metso's broader processes, tools, and policies.
Project Management Excellence: Ensure F&A Project Managers utilize solid project management practices to deliver projects that meet customer expectations and fulfill contract obligations.
Lead and Manage Projects: Oversee project teams, ensuring deliveries are properly resourced and achieve targets for safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
Stakeholder Communication: Manage relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal units, ensuring clear and effective communication.
Scope Change Management: Adhere to robust scope change management practices to deliver projects successfully.
Continuous Improvement: Manage lessons learned, identify continuous improvement opportunities, and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders.
Vendor Compliance: Ensure vendors adhere to all Metso specifications, drawings, data sheets, and ITPs, with necessary inspections documented throughout the project.
Quality Documentation: Manage quality paperwork and create and maintain Manufacturers Data Reports (MDRs) for project handover.
Project Meetings: Participate in and manage project meetings, ensuring timely follow-up on minutes and actions.
Warranty Support: Support warranty process root cause analysis (RCA) and resolutions as applicable.
Install Base Updates: Ensure information updates are recorded in the Install Base.
Reporting: Report on the activities of the Project Delivery team and all projects, including project KPIs, metrics, and trends.
Who You Are:
Industry Expertise: Significant experience in the mining industry, mineral processing, heavy manufacturing, or a similar heavy industrial environment.
Project Management Experience: Proven track record of professional accomplishment and reliability in project management.
Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Experience: Preferred experience on the OEM side.
Technical Skills: Background in engineering, manufacturing, construction, planning, quality assurance/control, commissioning, andu/or safety.
Leadership: Ability to work successfully with others in a matrix from a range of cultures within a diverse political, economic, technical, and social environment.
Customer Service Mindset: Strong understanding of service business and customer service.
Management Skills: Resourcing, competence development, and performance management skills.
Decision-Making: Empowerment, delegation, prioritization, and decision-making ability. Results-driven.
Influence and Negotiation: Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
Flexibility: Willingness to travel (domestically and internationally) as required and flexibility to work at various times of the day.
Contractor and Supplier Management: Sound understanding of procurement planning and practices.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of relevant mineral processing technologies.
Tool Proficiency: Knowledge of relevant tools (MS Project, SAP, MS Office, and Teams suite).
