Overview:

Celanese is currently seeking a Manufacturing Plant Director to lead our manufacturing operations in Boucherville Canada.

Our Celanese facility located in Boucherville, QC, produces Emulsion Polymers used in a variety of applications such as coatings, laminates and adhesives.

The Boucherville Manufacturing Plant Director will report to the Regional Manufacturing Leader and will be responsible for the overall operational success of the emulsions manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient operations, maintaining high safety standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the manufacturing team to implement best operating practices and drive the site's Safety, Quality, Reliability and Employee Engagement strategies.
  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production, safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure the facility provides the highest quality products produced in the most efficient manner within budgeted costs.
  • Develop and implement the site's operational plans which include cost reduction initiatives, capital planning and resources as well as in other areas.
  • Maintain strong working relationships across all functional areas including supply chain, procurement, engineering, production, T&I, quality, finance, and sales.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of plant KPI's as well as managing workforce recruitment and development.
  • Drive operational excellence and continuously identify ways to reduce plant operating costs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with government bodies and authorities, as well as other manufacturing sites and external organizations to implement best practices.


Qualifications:

  • BSC in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Increasing levels of responsibility to include a broad experience in manufacturing disciplines such as production engineering, EHS or maintenance and reliability roles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and influence at all levels in the organization.
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and to manage time effectively.
  • Experience in change management and organizational development.
  • Operating excellence or Six Sigma certification and Lean experience preferred.
