Summary

Detailed Description of Duties (with scope and impact):
- Direct an independent, externally funded research program aligned with the School and Division's priorities in biomedical science, global health, and translational research.
- Publish original research findings in peer-reviewed, high-impact journals and contribute to the visibility and academic excellence of the institution.
- Serve as Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-PI on federal, foundation grants and other funding sources; oversee budgets, research compliance, and reporting.
- Actively mentor postdoctoral researchers, junior faculty, graduate students, and/or trainees in the lab or program area.
- Engage in collaborative research initiatives within the Division, School, and external partners to enhance translational impact.
Job Duties
- Lead research initiatives aligned with the Division's thematic strengths (e.g., tropical medicine, infectious diseases, immunology, data science, translational medicine, vaccine and diagnostic sciences).
- Contribute to Division-sponsored research symposia, working groups, and scholarly events.
- Mentor and support the development of junior investigators through formal and informal mechanisms.
- Teach or co-teach relevant coursework in the school's graduate and/or professional programs.
- Participate in internal grant reviews, faculty search committees, and initiatives to support diversity, equity, and may supervise the following roles depending on project scope and grant funding:
- Research Coordinators or Technicians
- Postdoctoral Fellows
- Graduate Students
- Research Assistants
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D., Sc.D., M.D., or equivalent in a relevant scientific or health-related field.
- Preferred Experience:
- At least 10 years of independent research experience demonstrated success in securing peer-reviewed funding.
- Strong record of scholarly productivity, including lead or senior authorship on publications in reputable journals.
- Experience in mentoring, team leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
