Austin Bridge & Road has an outstanding opportunity for an Equipment Fleet Manager for projects in North Texas. The Equipment Fleet Manager has management and operational responsibilities of the Equipment Division with bottom-line accountability. The fundamental purpose of this position is to identify and fulfill the equipment needs of the organization in an economical and service-oriented manner. Reporting to the Equipment Division Manager, this position's purpose includes the selection, procurement, protection, and deployment of equipment assets. This position also directly manages the maintenance, repair, and operating of equipment assets. The Equipment Fleet Manager has primary responsibility for overall vehicle fleet operations concerning efficiency, safety, and profitability. This role will initial report to our equipment yard in Waxahachie near I-35S and 287. Upon completion of our new equipment yard location in the summer of 2025, the reporting location for this position will then move to Dallas at Ledbetter and Duncanville Road.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine optimal size and mix of the division fleet
  • Marketing and sales of rental equipment, cranes, and other equipment services
  • Procure all assets for the Equipment Division
  • Maintain current industry data on pricing of equipment, related services, and product development
  • Disposal and re-marketing of all assets, equipment and vehicles
  • Maintenance of all assets: equipment, cranes, concrete pumping equipment, and automobiles
  • Ensure relationships both internal and external are being enhanced with the Equipment Division
  • Profit/loss and budgeting of Service Operations, Rental Operations, and Vehicle Operations
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and municipal laws related to equipment sales, rentals, and related services including all corporate and division policies and procedures dealing with employment, compensation, health, safety, and labor/management relations
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in construction equipment management
  • Strong knowledge of construction equipment types, such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, cranes, bulldozers, etc.
  • Budgeting and financial management skills to handle repair costs, inventory, and service contracts.
  • Experience with maintenance and repair of construction equipment, including both preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors and visitors
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of all local, state and national statutes and guidelines regarding equipment licensing, certifications, permitting and hauling
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time effective manner


Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED, or vocational training/certification
  • Proficiency in general office software (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.) for reporting and administrative tasks
  • HCSS and Heavy Equipment 360 experience
  • Proven experience managing a service team or repair crew
  • Experience with procurement, terms and conditions
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel to various project sites across the North Texas Region
  • Requires working outdoors at times in the rain or snow and during cold, warm, and hot temperatures
  • Must be able to work on call as needed
