Our finance team provides critical information to leadership for effective management and successful outcomes. We work closely with management throughout the organization, we manage equity, we identify risk management, ensure cash flow management as well as handle tax management. As a successful member of the finance team you will problem solve, be highly analytical, extremely detail oriented and be a top notch communicator.

What you will do:

The Senior Tax Associate, International, will be a key addition to the Finance Organization as eXp continues its rapid global expansion. eXp is looking for a highly motivated and experienced tax professional.

The Senior Associate, International Tax is part of the Tax Organization that provides global tax compliance, planning, transfer pricing, tax reporting, and tax audit defense for the Company. This role is primarily focused on managing US international tax compliance, foreign tax compliance, transfer pricing, preparing foreign tax provisions and audit defense for the company. This role will also collaborate with other members of the Tax Organization and external advisors to ensure compliance of all international tax filings as required.
  • Prepare U.S. international tax compliance (e.g.: CbCR, Forms 5471, 926, 8865, 8858 etc.) and related elections/statements.
  • Operational transfer pricing activities, including management of IC agreements, quarterly review of margins, and partnering with accounting and treasury on intercompany activities to ensure proper compliance with transfer pricing requirements (e.g., accounts and markup % /interest rate etc.).
  • Partner with International Tax Manager in the preparation and/or review of certain transfer pricing studies, including US Masterfile.
  • Monitor new intercompany activities to ensure compliance with foreign tax compliance and transfer pricing requirements.
  • Prepare foreign tax provisions on a quarterly basis and reconcile US GAAP to Local Stat financials.
  • Reconcile income tax accounts across all foreign tax ledgers; and ensure proper support for deferred balances.
  • Assist International Tax Manager with international tax inquiries and research local tax matters including validating VAT/GST rates, withholding tax rates/considerations, permanent establishments, and transfer pricing requirements around local files/notifications/disclosures.
  • Support International Tax manager with data requests and manage process to ensure timely filings.
  • Partner with International Tax Manager in monitoring foreign legislative developments especially around BEPS 2.0, including Pillar 1 and 2 (new global minimum tax), and assist with quantitative impact analysis to ensure ensuring Company is positioned to comply with new compliance requirements/calculations.
  • Update domestic corporate allocations model and partner with accounting on booking of journal entries
  • Manage all requests for US Residency Certificates (Form 6166) filings with the IRS
  • Assist with review of US withholding tax requirements on payments to foreign vendors and manage filings of Forms 1042 when required.
  • Assist with process (while partnering with accounting) for depreciation of foreign assets to ensure compliance with foreign tax requirements
  • Monitor, in partnership with global accounting team, completion of statutory financials
  • Assist in monitoring any tax controversy matters globally
  • Draft memos, and responses to notices to support and defend tax positions taken across various jurisdictions.
  • Identify process improvements for various tax processes, implement changes for best practices
  • Assist and/or lead other special projects as needed.
  • Maintain automated tax technology solutions

How you will grab our attention:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting or industry in tax or accounting
  • Experience working in or with publicly traded companies.
  • Understand fundamentals of international tax compliance and foreign tax provisions, and transfer pricing.
  • Prior experience with US international tax compliance and transfer pricing is preferred
  • Experience with enterprise software such as Oracle, CorpTax, and SmartView
  • Experience developing and booking journal entries
  • Experience with Microsoft Office/Google Suite tools
  • Experience with tax research tools
  • Excellent research skills, including a focus on documentation
  • Ability to analyze financial statements/schedules and write commentary to explain results/variances in a concise and clear manner
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and the pressures associated with tax compliance deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Ability to leverage technology to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Demonstrated process improvement skills
  • Strong communication and managerial skills
