Position Summary

Guggenheim Securities ("GS") is seeking an experienced Vice President to join its Healthcare Services team in Richmond. This position will focus on covering pharma services.

The Healthcare Services Group at Guggenheim Securities is a rapidly growing and a critically important strategic initiative for the firm. We provide coverage across various sub-verticals including payors, providers, HCIT, pharma services and animal health.

Essential Job Functions
  • Lead day-to-day project management and oversee execution on a range of advisory and financing transactions
  • Drive long-term client relationship development through effective dialogue with client leadership teams
  • Develop and oversee financial and accounting analyses and help identify, research, and analyze M&A and financing opportunities
  • Lead client meetings and drafting sessions
  • Analyze and manage the analysis of market trends, competitive landscapes, and publicly traded company financials to identify potential client solutions and new market opportunities
  • Maintain working knowledge of multiple pharma services sub-sectors, monitor key industry drivers, and assemble insights to support and enhance advisory services and new business development initiatives
  • Identify improvements to processes and propose solutions to complete group tasks more efficiently
  • Demonstrate understanding of macro factors related to client sectors and investment banking and potential implications
  • Act as lead "on the job" trainer for Associates and Analysts, articulating roles and objectives for junior team members and providing constructive feedback
  • Act as financial and strategic advisor for clients of core accounts in conjunction with senior bankers
  • Ensure all activity is compliant with Guggenheim Securities' applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Transaction evaluation, preparation, due diligence, and execution of transactions; and managing the preparation of marketing materials including teasers, information memoranda, and other transaction-related documentation
  • Generate potential ideas and new business opportunities to clients to help solve problems whether using advisory or capital market solutions
  • Share relevant deal/client context with the junior team and provide motivation and guidance for the team


Preferred Qualifications
  • Track record of closed M&A and/or financing transactions in the pharma services sector
  • Significant level of maturity and the ability to work as a team interfacing with top company executives and senior management
  • Highly organized project captain capable of managing high velocity processes
  • Effective communicator - verbal, written, and virtual
  • Agile leader that can exercise sound judgment under pressure
  • Curious and resourceful business person with strong understanding of accounting and finance
  • Mature teammate with the ability to develop relationships with senior-level colleagues and clients
  • Teaching orientation with strong desire to mentor and train junior teammates - ability to be player-coach as needed
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Sell-side advisory experience is a plus


Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required
  • 7+ years of professional experience
  • 4+ years of prior investment banking or equivalent M&A experience
  • SIE Exam, Series 79 and Series 63 must be acquired within 150 days of employment

Work Location
  • Currently, this role is expected to be in the Richmond office at least 4 days per week.


Salary
  • Annual base salary between $250,000 and $275,000.
  • The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
