Job Description
This person is responsible for strategically managing linear Sports media inventory to ensure maximum revenue and value in our sports programming. Heavy Emphasis on advising planners on how to build plans to best optimize available linear commercial inventory in order to deliver specific property P&L goals. This requires developing strong working relationships with the sales, sales operations, marketing, and finance teams to ensure maximum usage and placement. Also includes the ability to oversee and manage inventory analysts, including training & development.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Job Description
This person is responsible for strategically managing linear Sports media inventory to ensure maximum revenue and value in our sports programming. Duties and Responsibilities
- Inventory guidance/approvals/feedback for sports media plans across NBC, Golf Channel, USA, CNBC, Telemundo and Universo. Sports could include Golf, NBA, B1G & ND Football, College Basketball, NASCAR, Premier League, US Soccer, Chivas, as well as other Tentpole Sports (Olympics, World Cup, etc).
- Support various ad hoc reporting projects - proficiency in Excel is required to analyze and evaluate the data
- Approving media plans to hold/order in the system and ensuring each plan is labeled and booked correctly
- Analyze sales revenue pacing reports and apply your conclusions to inventory approvals
- Strategically Maximize inventory: move forward advertisers to fill avails and help clear watch list
- Manage re-expressions from schedule changes throughout the year
- Participate in the Ratecard process with suggestions on how to evaluate and edit, in order to continue to evolve within the Sports marketplace.
- Sports sponsorship and invoice adjustment workflow approvals
- Management of internal added value and non-unit form process from start to finish
- Monitor deal stewardship reports and execution of Recap/ADU packages to fill upcoming avails, including referencing C-Suite for deals guaranteed with digital.
- Providing sales with most up to date plan building guide, avails, & programming information
- Coordinate Upfront materials (program descriptions and grids)
- Oversee the inventory analyst's day to day responsibilities
- Contribute to the training & development of inventory analysts
- Creating, tracking, & maintaining our "deal point" documents
- Work with Subject Matter Experts to improve best practices and business processes
Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Internet research
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of progressive related experience in media sales or buying
- Strong knowledge of media math and audience metrics
Desired Characteristics
- Position requires a minimum of 3-5 years working experience either Agency Planning/Buying or Cable/Broadcast Ad Sales/Sales Support
- Candidate should have had supervisory experience in a past work situation
- This position requires a strong media math skill set, excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills required including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
