The expected annual salary range for this role is $99,749 - $137,500 a year.

What you'll do:

The Lead Power Lab Engineer is responsible for leading evaluation and test of power systems for new product development projects in high-power three-phase UPS's, EV chargers and battery storage. The role will engage with product design teams from concept level to production release providing performance and compliance test plans as well as over-sight of test execution. If you have a passion for product design evaluation and product assurance, this role is for you.

In this role you will:
  • Work with cross-functional engineering teams to support evaluation of three-phase UPS's from 8kW to 2.5MW, 150kW to 500kW EV DC fast-chargers and Lithium Ion 1MW and larger energy storage systems.
  • Review product requirements and develop detailed test plans and test cases to ensure product features and performance requirements are met.
  • Leverage your skill and experience by providing guidance to engineering team members, lab engineers, and technicians.
  • Ensure product safety, performance, functionality, and reliability.
  • Identify product compliance issues before products are built through active participation in product design reviews.
  • Work with global product development teams to align test requirements.


Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in engineering lab test and evaluation of power electronics circuits or systems OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of two (2) years of work experience in engineering test and evaluation of power electronics circuits and systems


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree from accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience in design or evaluation of power systems electronics uninterruptible power systems, motor drives or similar products.


Skills:

Position Criteria:
  • Understanding of high frequency power electronics circuits and systems
  • Familiarity with commercial regulatory requirements (safety and electromagnetic compliance)
  • Working in lab environment around high voltage (480V typical mains) where safety awareness is critical
  • Planning and oversight of electrical equipment installation
  • Creating test plans, technical reports and presentations
  • Familiarity with common tools and methods to work in high power lab environment, i.e., oscilloscopes, power analyzers and meters
  • Knowledge of programming languages (C/C#/C++, Python)
  • Familiarity with simulation and modeling tools (PLECS,PSPICE)
  • Position requires an individual who is self-motivated, self-managed, team-oriented, proactive, attentive to detail, task oriented, and able to overcome obstacles to meet schedule requirements
