Position Overview:
As a Senior FEA Engineer on the Design Analysis team you will be responsible for conducting Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations to support the design and development of conventional marine internal combustion engines, drive systems, electrified propulsion and vessels. The anticipated pay range for this position is $84,500 - $136,100 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus program. At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business context.

Essential Functions:
- Conduct detailed/comprehensive simulations using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software such as Abaqus, Ansys, and/or other similar commercial software's of structural components and systems to reduce stress, maximize fatigue life, and minimize NVH.
- Work closely with design and development engineers to help provide design inputs and perform trade-off studies that will improve the product. This includes evaluating different design options and assessing their impact on performance, weight, cost, and recommending the best solutions.
- Partner with test engineers to specify testing and instrumentation needed to obtain analysis inputs and validate results. This includes designing test protocols, analyzing test data, and refining models based on empirical findings.
- Work independently when needed to develop solutions and work well with cross-functional groups, including design, development, and manufacturing teams, to ensure seamless integration of analysis results into the product development cycle.
- Coordinate work packages between onsite and offshore teams. This includes managing project timelines, ensuring clear communication between teams, and maintaining high standards of quality and consistency in deliverables.
- Document analysis findings and share the results with stakeholders, engineering partners, and leaders. This includes preparing detailed reports, presenting findings in meetings, and providing actionable recommendations based on analysis results.
- Identify potential areas for new method development and work with experts to test and deploy. This involves staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in analysis techniques, conducting research to develop innovative methods, and implementing these methods in practical applications.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improving analysis processes, tools, and methodologies. This includes participating in training sessions, attending industry conferences, and collaborating with peers to share knowledge and best practices. This also involves assessing software capabilities, identifying gaps, and recommending upgrades or new tools.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using Abaqus, Ansys, or similar commercial software.
- Strong fundamental understanding of statics, dynamics, engineering mechanics and materials.
- Exposure to numerical methods and engineering analysis.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to share analysis results and drive discussions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis in solid mechanics, vibrations, dynamics, finite element method, mechanics of materials, fatigue theory, IC engines and e-Machines.
- 5+ years of work experience in the following areas:
- FEA using Abaqus (preferred) and/or similar commercial software.
- Dynamic FEA (modal analysis & forced response).
- Explicit Dynamic FEA (impact).
- Non-linear stress analysis (material, contact, large deflection).
- FEA based fatigue analysis (feSafe experience preferred).
- Mesh generation and model set-up (Altair SimLab/HyperMesh and/or Abaqus/CAE).
- CAD experience with Creo and Ansys SpaceClaim is a plus.
- Usage of High-Performance Computing (HPC) cluster with Linux OS.
- Knowledge of test instrumentation (strain gauges, accelerometers, thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, etc.,.)
