Description:

BlueHalo is seeking a Microelectronics Radiation Test Engineer to support the evaluation of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) microelectronic devices under ionizing radiation at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM.

You will work hands-on with FPGA and SoC platforms, developing embedded software and automating test infrastructure to advance the reliability of microelectronics in space environments. This role offers the chance to contribute to meaningful R&D projects in a dynamic, mission-focused team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain embedded software and automated test infrastructure for radiation testing of FPGA and SoC platforms
  • Support test execution, data acquisition, and analysis in irradiated environments
  • Integrate custom embedded GNU/Linux platforms (e.g., Yocto, PetaLinux)
  • Collaborate with engineers and researchers on test planning and execution
  • Process, visualize, and report test data clearly and effectively
  • Document software tools, procedures, and test results for internal and customer use

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Master's degree in progress or recently completed
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI clearance
  • Proficient in:
    • Python
    • C/C++
    • BASH
    • GNU/Linux environments
    • Terminal-based data processing tools

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with embedded Linux tools (Yocto, PetaLinux)
  • Background in memory systems and embedded processors
  • Exposure to microelectronics radiation testing
  • Familiarity with the NVIDIA Jetson ecosystem
  • Experience with CUDA programming
  • Interest in Lua for scripting and automation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and collaboration
