About the role
In this role, you will work closely with the General Counsel to support the company's legal needs and ensure compliance across all areas of the business. This role includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts; supporting corporate governance; and contributing to legal research and compliance initiatives. You'll collaborate with internal teams and external counsel to manage legal risk and enable key strategic goals. As part of a global legal team, you'll also work in close partnership with colleagues in Australia.
This is a hybrid role based out of our office in San Francisco 3 days per week.

The anticipated starting base pay range for this role is listed below. Base salary is not the only component of our competitive total rewards package - you may also be eligible for bonus, commissions, equity, and other benefits as described below. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications.
$108,000 - $150,000 base pay

About the role

This role includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts; supporting corporate governance; and contributing to legal research and compliance initiatives. You'll collaborate with internal teams and external counsel to manage legal risk and enable key strategic goals. As part of a global legal team, you'll also work in close partnership with colleagues in Australia.
This is a hybrid role based out of our office in San Francisco 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including service agreements, vendor contracts, licenses, and NDAs
- Assist in managing corporate governance activities, including board resolutions, annual filings maintaining corporate records, and ensuring entities remain in good standing
- Conduct legal research, summarize, and analyze relevant laws and regulations to provide actionable insights to the General Counsel and business leaders
- Monitor compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and contractual obligations
- Support the management of disputes and litigation by coordinating with external counsel and assisting with preliminary reviews, document preparation, and case tracking
- Assist with the company's privacy and data security compliance initiatives, including support on matters related to CCPA.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with People and Culture on employment-related compliance and documentation
- Provide general support to the legal department, including managing legal intake systems, administrative support, and participating in special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
- 1+ years of relevant experience, preferably with a combination of law firm and/or in-house experience focused on commercial transactions, corporate governance, or compliance
- Experience drafting and negotiating basic commercial agreements
- Active California State Bar License required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including contract drafting and negotiation
- Attention to detail with excellent analytical and organizational abilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative and proactive approach
- Proficiency with legal research databases and Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with legal technology platforms (e.g., DocuSign, LawVu) is preferred
- High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality
