About the Role

GLMX is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and assertive financial services professional for a securities lending sales role in our New York office to accelerate our securities lending selling initiatives across sell-side (prime brokers, dealers, borrowers) and buy-side (asset owners/principal/agency lenders) clients in the region.

The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of the securities finance market overall and possess subject matter expertise in securities lending, have an established network and history in client prospecting and acquisition, the ability to lead product demonstrations and a passion for driving business growth. The candidate should possess sufficient familiarity and comfort with technology such that they can clearly articulate what the GLMX technology does, which problems it solves and how it can deliver value to business end users in language those users clearly understand.

This role is pivotal in expanding and diversifying our market presence, delivering client value, and fostering long-term relationships with key stakeholders in the industry.

The role will be responsible for the full sales lifecycle from initial contact through closing the sale to helping scale up eventual usage.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategy Development
    • In partnership with the Global Securities Lending business lead, develop and implement a local go to market sales plan tailored to the equity and fixed income financing sector to drive growth, market penetration and adoption of GLMX SBL product.
    • Establish market sizing, prioritize target segments, and identify key logos to maximize sales opportunities.
    • Employ strategies and disciplines to curate a pipeline with sufficient coverage against key performance indicators.
  • Client Acquisition
    • Drive the client acquisition process for assigned coverage accounts, collaborate with colleagues overseas on global mandates, and secure new logos across the North American region through direct outreach, marketing campaigns, and related client engagement.
    • Lead client demonstrations of the securities lending product to deliver GLMX's unique selling and value proposition for adoption.
    • Forge and nurture meaningful relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders at major financial institutions within the securities lending industry.
    • Work with GLMX internal teams and client trading desks to bring flow on to the platform and then move to sustained, scaled flow.
  • Market Analysis and Reporting
    • Conduct thorough market analysis to stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes.
    • Provide updates on execution against the go-to-market plan, pipeline opportunities, sales performance, market conditions, and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaboration and Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Partner and collaborate with marketing, product, onboarding & integration, and client services teams to ensure a cohesive approach to market entry, client engagement, and strategic goals.
    • Represent GLMX at industry events, conferences, and seminars to enhance brand visibility and establish thought leadership in the securities lending sector.
What we are looking for:
  • Experience and Education
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a sales/sales trading role within financial services, ideally within securities finance. Prior experience selling platform solutions, SaaS, and technology products are valued.
    • In depth knowledge of the financial markets, including key players, market dynamics, and regulatory environment in the NAM region.
    • Bachelor's degree (BS, BA or equivalent) in Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or other relevant advanced degrees are valued.
    • FINRA SIE/Series 7 (ideally held, but otherwise commitment to obtain within 6 months of joining).
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong commercial instincts, analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable sales strategies and to effectively communicate ideas to product management.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and people skills.
    • Proficiency using CRM software and other tools to manage and track sales activities.
    • Demonstrated ability to execute on a sales plan, navigate the sales process, and close deals.
