Description:

The Executive Director of Finance is responsible for leading the finance and accounting functions within the organization. Incumbent must act with high moral standards keeping a strong focus on the mission and culture of OSV.

Essential Job Functions (*=Non-essential tasks):
Provide financial planning, analysis forecasting, modeling, and reporting for budgeting, cash flow, and capital investment priorities for the business.
Assist with compliance matters, fringe benefit plans and audits.
Effectively communicate key financial initiatives, departmental adherence to annual financial objectives, and monthly departmental performance.
Contribute to the development of OSV's strategic goals and objectives.
Focus on efficiency and operational excellence in all accounting and finance functions by focusing on continuous improvement efforts to simplify and automate tasks and processes.
Promote a culture of high performance that values learning and a commitment to quality.
Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results.
Learn about the business and our customers' needs by participating in customer events and attending OSV conferences.
Facilitate the resolution of banking matters, supplier resource needs, and assist with contractual reviews.
Prepare timely and accurate analyses, summaries, and reports of financial data on the operating progress of the company's performance and results.
Create reliable product and service proforma models and projections and track results to invest for growth and manage profitability.
Improve efficiency related to employee benefits programs, invoicing, reporting, revenue recognition, payments, receivables, payroll, etc.
Provide support for acquisition analysis, capital investments, defined contribution plans, and other issues affecting the business.
Partner with the HR Department and the Finance Team on the administration of insurance coverage for liability, cyber security, workers compensation, health, dental, vision, accident, life, disability, and other insurance offerings.)
Partner with the HR Department and the Finance Team with union contract negotiations with an emphasis on the long-term cost ramifications.
Provide accounting support and reconciliation processes for the OSV Institute grants, donations received by OSV, and external grant requests made by OSV.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax and compliance reporting requirements.
Provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
Travel is required as needed.

Requirements:

Experience:
An experienced leader and financial executive with a minimum of ten years of appropriate industry experience, preferably in the field of manufacturing and/or publishing.
High ethical standards.
Demonstrated experience as a strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and a strong operational focus.
Previous experience in mergers or acquisitions is a plus.
Previous work experience with computers and with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Skilled at new system implementations.

Education:
Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent; minimum of ten years of progressively increasing responsibility in the field of accounting and finance; MBA Preferred.
CPA required.

Working Environment:
Incumbent will work in an on-site hybrid office environment.
Incumbent will spend a majority of their time sitting and working on a computer.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Finance department.
Recruit, train, direct, lead, coach and evaluate department staff.
