Lead Data Scientist (Multiple Positions), The Prudential Insurance Company of America, Newark, NJ:
Develop and implement data science methods for prediction and optimization, including a wide variety of technologies - graph data science algorithms, logistic regression, decision trees/forests, boosted models, clustering, for explorative analysis, anomaly detection survival analysis, segmentation, prediction and recommendation systems. Identify, source, transform and join public, proprietary and internal data sources using multiple tools, such as AWS, SnowFlake, Python and Pandas. Model large structured and unstructured data sources (financial transactions, annuities / insurance / investment data, time-series, text, speech/audio, image, IT systems logs, documents). Oversee the creation, implementation, and delivery of an end-to-end technical solution for a data science project by being hands-on as well as by guiding junior staff. Follow the data science project lifecycle, closely engaging with other team members. Translate business data and problem statements to suitable methods and evaluate the fit. Prepare and present written and verbal reports with complex statistical concepts to non-analytical stakeholders while utilizing Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to articulate business value. Develop and maintain consultative relationships with key business stakeholder. Work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations, and demonstrated technical leadership in making decisions and applying theory to practice on a day-to-day basis in business context, anticipating roadblocks, and representing the technical side of the engagements.
Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days a week.
Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field, and 2 years of related work experience.
Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:
Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days a week.
Domestic travel required up to 10%.
