POSITION SUMMARY:
Accounting Supervising Senior supports the daily administration of our clients' finance departments. Responsibilities include but are not limited to financial and operational management, business development and team leadership.
This position is 100% ON CLIENT SITE in the Washington, DC Metro area.
Salary Range: $78,000-$90,000 (depending on experience)

FINANCIAL & OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT:
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
- Coordinate all audit activity.
- Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process.
- Compare budgeted to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.
- Oversee all financial, project/program, and grants accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period; collate financial reporting materials for government, corporate, and foundation grants.
- Manage organizational cash flow forecasting.
- Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.
- Provide supervision, review and leadership to in house accounting and finance team personnel.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are accounted for in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ensure full integration of data with all financial systems throughout the organization.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, local and private reporting requirements, including federal and state information tax returns, federal and state payroll tax returns, sales and property tax returns and other returns pertaining to charitable organizations and solicitations.
COMMUNICATION OF FINANCIAL RESULTS:
- Clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep manager and partner abreast of financial status.
- Support the manager and partner in reporting to the board's audit and finance committees.
- Carry out an open-book style of financial management by sharing and training others on basic and technical accounting issues.
- Work with program directors and senior leadership at each client to establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
- 4+ years of progressively responsible finance, accounting, grants and contracts accounting, and team management work experience
- Mastery of senior and staff position responsibilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks and other finance software.
- Ability to work with senior leadership and executive teams to work through complex financial and operational scenarios.
- Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers.

- Ensure that the portion of the client service and other budgets under his/her guidance are adhered to the best of his/her abilities.
- Represent the CAS department on appropriate cross-functional team(s) throughout Calibre (technical, social etc.).
- Perform special projects as needed and/or requested.
- Participate in learning opportunities to enhance individual, team, and organizational performance.
- Ensure alignment of team to Calibre mission and organizational goals.

- Look for opportunities to introduce expanded services to current clients.
