ABOUT GIORDANO'S
Giordano's is a legendary Chicago-based restaurant brand, known for serving the best deep-dish pizza anywhere. With a strong dine-in presence, a growing delivery business, and a mix of company-owned and franchised locations, we are poised for strategic expansion. We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to manage our restaurant operations (company-owned and franchise locations), training team, and new restaurant opening team.
POSITION SUMMARY
The VP of Operations is responsible for leading Giordano's operations in the achievement of its performance objectives which include building, motivating and growing a high-performance restaurant operations team; leading consistent execution of key strategic initiatives in operations; driving optimal restaurant operations; ensuring operational controls are effective; partnering with the President of the company to monitor and support the full alignment of objectives of the operations teams and the finance and accounting teams; partnering with the IT team to achieve optimal operations in the field and other efficiencies which benefit both customers and employees; partnering with the human resources team to develop and execute training and people development processes as well as a solid succession plan; partnering with the marketing team to achieve maximum benefit from customized marketing campaigns; and collaborating with the executive team to refine and execute Giordano's growth strategies. The VP of Operations is expected to accomplish these objectives through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by his/her high integrity, passion, trust, spirit of teamwork, and adherence to Giordano's values and mission.
REPORTS TO Chief Executive Officer of the Company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Leads and directs operations to achieve pre-determined outcomes and to optimize the performance of each company operated restaurant.
Leads, motivates and holds accountable a high-performance management team of Regional Directors of Operations. Provides coaching, people development support and holds direct reports accountable for executing the company's strategies.
Leads all initiatives at the operations level which are designed to achieve the highest level of satisfaction for Giordano's customers and to generate excellent posted customer reviews.
Responsible for achieving restaurant-level sales and profitability goals, driven by a well-defined labor model, with an eye toward constantly increasing efficiency.
Participates in the development and preparation of short-term and long-range plans, including budgets, based on broad organizational goals and objectives. Recommends their adoption to the CEO.
Provides day-to-day leadership and management which mirrors the adopted mission and core values of the company.
Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment and culture within the company. Coaches teams and individuals to ensure we operate with excellence. Make changes as required to ensure excellence.
Develops and establishes operating policies and procedures consistent with the company's strategies and objectives and ensures their effective execution.
Regularly evaluates the results of overall operations, assesses risk and reports to the CEO.
Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the company restaurants.
Leads our Director of Franchisee Operations to ensure our franchise partners are set up for success, adhere to our brand guidelines, and best represent Giordano's.
Ensures that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with appropriate local, state and federal laws and regulations.
Works with HR to grow and develop the capabilities of the company's human capital. Collaborates in the creation of processes to accomplish this including developing robust training programs and establishing a comprehensive succession planning process.
Leads the implementation of all food and beverage initiatives for the company, including new menu and beverage programs.
Leads the implementation of all safety and sanitation initiatives for the company.
Leads new restaurant opening teams to ensure the successful opening of all new restaurants and their seamless transition to the permanent operations team.
Collaborates with development team to optimize the company's restaurant designs.
Develops and maintains a sound plan of organization for those functions/business units falling under his/her direct responsibility. Ensures adequate management development and provides for capable management succession.
Participates in the development of effective and equitable personnel policies throughout the organization, including compensation and employee benefit plans. Ensures that the interests and welfare of employees as individuals are preserved and protected.
Collaborates with the executive team to develop the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to support the growth objectives of the organization.
Represents the company in board meetings, with financial institutions, investors, and business partners.

TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during a typical business day, although out-of-the-area and overnight travel will be expected, as necessary.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or higher in business or related field.
A minimum of 10 years of strong restaurant operations, including proven multi-unit management and leadership.
ADDITIONAL ELIGILBILTIY QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated experience in managing restaurant-level P&Ls.
Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.
Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate mission.
Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.

Pay: $200,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year
