R&D Engineering - Medical Devices (Plymouth, MN)

We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineer to develop medical devices through supporting new product development programs aimed to treat vascular diseases. In this role you will learn and execute research and development activities associated with product development life cycle.

Your role:

  • Assisting in research and development activities associated with medical device new product development including document control and adherence to the quality management system (QMS).
  • Collaborating with cross-functional team members throughout product development phases to ensure program success.
  • Making data driven decisions using appropriate analytical methodologies.
  • Verifying that designs meet functional requirements through the performance of engineering analyses and testing.
  • Establishing test methods, acceptance criteria, and test equipment for all stages of product development.
  • Writing test protocols, analyzing data, and documenting findings in test reports.


You're the right fit if:

  • You've acquired experience through an internship or co-op in a medical device company working on product design. Experience should include exposure to FDA submissions, document control and quality management systems (QMS).
  • Your skills include SolidWorks, Minitab and the full MS Suite of tools. You have the ability to execute on how medical devices are designed, manufactured and used in order to establish test methods and evaluate new product design concepts.
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • You're detail oriented, highly organized and able to communicate information effectively. You also have the ability to multitask, take ownership, and collaborate cross functionally with others.


How we work together:

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.

This is an office-based role in Plymouth, MN.

Philips Transparency Details:

The pay range for this position in MN $71,000 to $114,000

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
