We are hiring an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager responsible for all safety-related issues, training, administration, and management of employees' leave and illnesses. The Manager will lead the company's initiative to develop a strong safety culture and provide a safe work environment by providing safety training, ensuring facility compliance with company and government safety standards, improving safety performance, and building a culture of safety. This position reports to the VP of Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Promote a culture of safety across the organization.
  • Review all safety policies and procedures and revise them as needed
  • Implement new safety policies as needed
  • Responsible for making sure the plants comply with OSHA Rules and Regulations
  • Conduct daily facility audits to identify potential risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Administer workers ' compensation claims, including accident investigation, reporting, and posting to the OSHA 300 log.
  • Primary contact for all work-related injuries and leave management
  • Performs ergonomics assessments as needed
  • Respond to near-miss events, incidents, and accidents when needed, and partner with leaders to continually identify preventive steps to improve.
  • Coordinate OSHA and related training in all assigned Manufacturing and Warehouse locations, including new hire orientation, annual compliance training, and safety awareness.
  • Assist in audit preparation, emergency response plans, and DOT compliance for company drivers.
  • Solicit ideas and recommendations from associates across the organization to identify and proactively address safety concerns.
  • Support safety incident response and complete First Aid certification to assist with associate care when needed.
  • Update Health & Safety Boards and ensure messages remain current and relevant.
  • Head the safety committee. Prepare agenda, capture meeting notes, and maintain progress on follow-up for site safety committee meetings.
  • May perform other duties or work on other projects as the Department requires.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bilingual Spanish/English
  • Four years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a safety-focused mindset.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer and business-related software, including Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Proven ability to maintain confidential information
  • Outstanding organizational skills: able to prioritize work and focus on details
  • Able to communicate with impact - both in written and verbal form
  • Proactive approach and commitment to finishing tasks on a timely basis

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of Job Task Assessments
  • Manage Annual Fire Drill procedures
  • Check and refill First Aid kits

Work Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock
  • Hot or cold temperatures
  • The noise level in the work environment is loud
