About the Role

Sagard is seeking a Senior Paralegal, Legal Affairs to support the continued development and expansion of the Paralegal team. This role requires a highly skilled legal professional who can function in the real estate investment industry while also offering assistance across the multiple strategies mentioned above. The role will report to the Senior Director, Paralegal Services and collaborate closely with the broader legal team and investment professionals.

A key aspect of this role is balancing multiple priorities while maintaining composure, and a practical solutions-oriented approach. The ideal candidate will desire a challenge and a passion for Sagard's growth story. They must manage the demands with enthusiasm and embrace the ever-changing nature of the firm's expansion. Key Job Duties
  • Organizing and maintaining accurate and complete virtual minute books utilizing our entity management platform
  • Handling all entity matters and filings, including but not limited to formations, annual maintenance and dissolutions
  • Coordinating annual reports and CTA filings
  • Collaborating with third party providers, CSC and external law firms
  • Managing board meeting matters, including preparation and post-meeting matters
  • Engaging in cross-functional collaboration
  • Interfacing with external investors
  • Managing various KYC and BOI requests
  • Maintaining structure charts and provide quarterly updates to parent company
  • Collaborating with parent company on various projects
  • Working closely with real estate, legal, compliance, tax and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of mandates

What We Are Looking For
  • A well-rounded Paralegal with expertise in corporate law coupled with additional key functional areas
  • Expertise and experience in a law firm, real estate industry or an alternative investment management
  • Tech-savvy & curious approach to work
  • Demonstrated business mindset & adaptability attitude
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel

Education and Experience Required
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree preferred (Business, Legal Studies, or similar) but not required
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a law firm preferably in the real estate industry or an alternative investment management
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with corporate law

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of corporate virtual minute book and external agent platforms is highly preferred
  • Ability to assess priorities in a solutions-oriented way in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively administer legal tech and process automation while supporting technology to scale legal functions
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and openness to new ideas and procedures
  • Advanced skills with promoting teamwork and cross-functional collaboration

Starting Base Salary Range: $80,000 to $115,000 Annually (USD)

The starting salary for this position is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the stated range based on various factors including, among other factors, location, education and training, experience, internal pay alignment, and performance. A potential new employee's salary history will not be used in compensation decisions. Many candidates' compensation will start in the bottom half of the stated range. This role is also eligible to participate in a merit-based annual bonus program, health, vision, and dental insurance plans, long and short-term disability, 401K plan, and PTO. This information is provided in connection with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, and similar requirements in California and New York. Positions located outside of these states may or may not necessarily receive the same compensation.
