Job Title: Radiologic Technologist
Profession: Radiologic Technologist

Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Afternoons
Hours per Shift: 8 hours
Experience: Minimum 2 years of CT experience required
License: ARRT (CT)
Certifications: BLS required
Must-Have:
- Must have experience with GE and Phillips equipment.
- Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors.
- Must possess personal qualities such as being self-directed, flexible, and a team player.
Description:
Under general supervision, specializes in performing computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients.
May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations.
Explains examination procedures to patients and prepares them for the examination.
Reviews clinical data on requisition and performs appropriate examinations.
Obtains additional information about the patient's medical history as necessary.
Prepares the procedure room and regularly replenishes stock such as linen and related supplies.
Analyzes anatomical structures of patients, sets up equipment, and performs the CT scan.
Manually controls the equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied.
Administers intravenous contrast media and monitors patients for possible reactions as appropriate to the study.
Provides immediate care to patients if a reaction should occur.
May prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for the procedure.
Ensures adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored.
Assists Radiologist in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures.
Demonstrates principles of radiation protection, including shielding of patients and selection of appropriate equipment settings.
Resolves any image exceptions and ensures high-quality image delivery.
Completes all study indexing in the Radiology Information System.
Reviews and confirms clinical protocols before performing studies.
Demonstrates team member standards of excellence including open communication, positivity, and respect for diversity.
Performs all documentation in the medical record as necessary, supporting all clinical and billing functions.
May work in a fixed unit or in an ambulatory mobile unit.
May be exposed to radiation and high-voltage equipment.
May be exposed to potentially contagious patients and may need to lift and/or move equipment and patients.
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.
