Software Developer - Applications (Journeyman)

Charles F. Day & Associates, LLC (CFDay) is seeking a Software/Applications Developer to join our team to support the IRS's Information Technology Control Tool (ITCT) contract. CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD

Location: Remote/Telework. Must be able to be onsite, within the National Capital Region, for any required meetings or technical engagements with two hours' notice.

Clearance: Tier 2/MBI Public Trust

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop applications that encompass development of Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft SQL Server database, online executive reporting, user interface, user research, data analytics, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of new products.
• Implement automated workflows, business rules, and validation logic to ensure robust, scalable, and user-friendly solutions.
• Develop integrations between SharePoint Online, Power Platform, and SQL Server using Data Gateways and API connectors.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Create interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and support visualization using Tableau as needed.
• Rebuild the ITCT application, addressing current limitations such as SharePoint Online lookup limits and latency.
• Collaborate with IRS stakeholders to define user stories, acceptance criteria, and UI/UX improvements.
• Conduct testing activities including unit testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Perform troubleshooting, resolve bugs, and optimize system performance in both development and production environments.
• Document technical designs, configurations, and procedures for system maintenance and audits.

Qualifications:

• Requires US Citizenship and Tier 2/MBI Public Trust.
• Must possess experience in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• 5+ years of application development experience, with focus on Power Platform and SharePoint modernization, federal preferred
• Strong Agile/Scrum background in government environments
• Familiarity with SharePoint, Power Platform, SQL, or M365 ecosystems
• Agile or Microsoft Power Platform certifications a plus
• Experience with Section 508 compliance a plus
