The Heterogeneous Integrating Group (HIG) is a division within the Technology and Products Group (TPG). We are developing High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) solutions for AI and ML applications. Using TSV (Through Silicon Via), we stack multiple DRAM chips on a high-speed memory controller with an integrated logic chip in one package, significantly increasing memory density and bandwidth through parallelization. Our ultimate goal is to deliver the lowest power per bit solutions in the industry.
HBM team is growing! We are seeking a motivated and experienced Si Foundry Interface Engineer to focus on the reliability assessment of new process technologies for HBM products. This role is crucial for ensuring that our designs meet stringent performance and reliability standards. The successful candidate will provide critical feedback to both the design and architecture teams for current and future HBM products.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$114,000.00 - $280,000.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. This role is crucial for ensuring that our designs meet stringent performance and reliability standards. The successful candidate will provide critical feedback to both the design and architecture teams for current and future HBM products.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Define Reliability specifications for Base Die in sync with the DRAM Die through multi-functional collaboration to meet the product needs.
- Conduct reliability assessments of new process technologies current and future HBM products
- Ensure designs meet performance and reliability requirements
- Conduct TMI_Aging simulations (Pass1& Pass2) to evaluate design degradation for custom and digital flow.
- Analyze simulation results to identify potential reliability issues and recommend design improvements.
- Understand and address reliability mechanisms and challenges in advanced FinFET nodes.
- Implement and monitor reliability processes such as Bias Temperature Instability (BTI), Hot Carrier Injection (HCI), Self-Heating Effect (SHE), and Time-Dependent Dielectric Breakdown (TDDB).
- Electromigration (EM) Evaluation: Evaluate EM current limits for TSV chains from base die to core die through BEOL stacks. Help define and manage EM current limits for various components
- Use statistical computation/ modeling/scripting tools for data analysis.
- Engage with Customers to support issues with current HBM architectures and identify opportunities to innovate on future HBM solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related equivalent field.
- 3+ years of experience working with Foundry Technology PDKs, preferably advanced FinFET nodes.
- 3+ years of proven experience working with EDA tools and EDA design automation etc. with experience in CMOS circuit design.
- Familiarity with the fundamental concepts associated with parasitic extraction, physical verification, circuit simulation, and reliability verification.
- Solid experience in automation using Python or equivalent scripting language is highly encouraged.
- Good understanding of Process Technology and device physics of advanced CMOS device architecture (FinFET and GAA).
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively synthesize and convey complex technical concepts to other partners and leadership.
- Strong track record of innovation and problem-solving in high-performance memory development
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS in EE/CE/CS or related equivalent field
- 3+ years of experience running reliability simulation to evaluate circuit level degradation.
- 2+ years of experience in reliability definition role to meet the product requirements
- Understanding of compact device models, aging models and reliability physics is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry reliability standards and practices
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and design rules
