Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Lead Molecular Pathology Technician to provide research support administration services for our government customer in Frederick, MD. In this role you will assist in leading and directing the maintenance and operation of the ultrastructural and molecular pathology laboratories.
Regular hours of work with the possibility of Weekends or extra weekly hours if needed.

Salary Range: $86,700.00 - $151,700.00

Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Lead Molecular Pathology Technician to provide research support administration services for our government customer in Frederick, MD. In this role you will assist in leading and directing the maintenance and operation of the ultrastructural and molecular pathology laboratories.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Assist the Molecular Pathology Department Manager in orientation, training, and scheduling of all assigned technicians, ensuring they meet all Institute training and laboratory biosafety requirements.
- Maintain training files and ensure laboratories meet biosafety requirements, are fully stocked, operational, and meet all inspection requirements.
- Participate in the development and coordination of molecular pathology work plans and budgets in coordination with the Chief, Molecular Pathology Department, Pathology Division.
- Access submitted cases into the pathology database, perform database entry procedures, and maintain accurate records of all specimens.
- Perform routine and special histological procedures including specimen trim-in, processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and archival of completed case materials.
- Operate and calibrate specialized equipment to ensure accurate, high-quality results to meet clinical, research, and GLP requirements.
- Evaluate, modify, or develop procedures to meet special requirements of research studies, and advise and train investigators on methods and materials needed for proper tissue handling and collection.
- Perform required job-related training, including GLP training, as necessary according to Pathology Division policies and procedures.
- Attend one scientific conference annually for continuing education and to maintain cutting-edge knowledge and techniques.
- Participate in manuscript development and preparation for publication of research.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Pathology, or other related science with 5 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- HTL (ASCP) certification or significant relevant experience.
- Experience in molecular techniques such as immunohistochemistry (IHC), in situ hybridization (ISH), immunofluorescent assays (IFA), confocal microscopy, histopathology, and project management.
- Previous training experience.
- Good Laboratory Practice documentation experience.
- Ability to work variable hours based on technical job requirements, including occasional night and weekend hours
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI clearance
