About the Team

eBay is the #1 Collectibles marketplace in the world, selling to millions of customers globally. The eBay Collectibles team is looking for Sr/Jr Category Managers to lead critical lines of business within US Collectibles. These roles own strategy, execution, internal/external partner engagement, and the evolution of the buyer and seller journey for various categories within the broader US Collectibles portfolio. Category managers deeply understand the needs, challenges, and behaviors of our diverse customer base and will identify strategic gaps and define priorities to improve performance throughout the entire experience including immediate optimizations and forward-looking initiatives to keep eBay ahead of industry trends.

The impact you will make
  • Drive growth & steer strategy. You will lead strategy development, execution, and ongoing management/optimization across your categories.
  • Seller Growth. You will create economic opportunities for your sellers by helping them understand what drives seller performance and creating joint business plans together.
  • Improve Buyer and Seller Trust. You will manage buyer and seller trust metrics through projects that help customers feel more comfortable buying and selling on eBay.
  • Improve the Customer Experience. You will work with consumer insights, buyers, and sellers to identify pain points and create solutions alongside cross functional teams.
  • Business Reporting. You will dive deep into the business to understand the drivers and report on business critical metrics on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.


Other qualifications

Required
  • 4-7+ years of relevant experience: Category management, strategy & operations, management consulting, instock management, or similar in e-commercial, retail, consumer goods, or consumer tech.
  • BA/BS degree, or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills + high-level proficiency in related tools: Google Slides and/or MS Powerpoint.
  • Excellent analytical skills, experience pulling data/gathering insights, and high-level proficiency in related tools: Google Sheets and/or MS Excel.
  • Excellent program/project management skills and high-level proficiency in related tools: MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.
  • Travel to industry events, external partners, and eBay offices as-needed (4+ times/year).


Preferred
  • MBA or similar graduate degree.
  • 2-sided marketplace experience.
  • Industry experience in or personal passion for Collectibles (Trading Cards, Coins, Comics, Toys).
  • Proficiency in SQL coding and demonstrated expertise with Data Warehouse pulls.


The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$84,800 - $146,900

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
