Role Summary:
The Human Resources Specialist will review and approve payroll, prior to sign-off by AVP, Director HR Operations. This role will support the overall Human Resources function including but not limited to: payroll and benefits administration, compliance management, and compensation planning. To develop appropriate reporting tools, as required by the Human Resources department. This role will provide a consistently high level of customer service to employees. This role also provides general administrative support to the department and assists employees with enquiries related to payroll and benefits.

This is a full-time, hybrid role where you will work from the Manhattan office two - three days a week. The salary range is $85,000 - $100,000, dependent on experience.

Role Summary:

What You'll Do:
- Oversee the payroll functions for the company and provide preliminary approval of semi-monthly payroll
- Oversee day-to-day administration of all benefits plans, working with employees, vendors and benefit providers to resolve claims, enrollment or billing issues
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on HRIS system and related system processes
- Undertake projects as directed by the AVP, Director, HR Operations to continually improve the quality and efficiencies of processes within HR
- Maintain records relating to semi-monthly payroll and enter payroll changes and updates into the ADP system
- Reconcile payroll and notify Finance of pertinent details required in support of semi-monthly wires
- Coordinate and manage annual benefits open enrollment, including preparing employee materials, updating systems, and working closely with benefit providers
- Work with HR team, employees and all benefit providers to enroll/update/cancel enrollment of employees
- Works with the HR Coordinator to reconcile benefit vendor invoices and maintain accurate billing
- Work with HR Coordinator to manage required employment-related legal postings and ensure timely distribution of annual updates to employees
- Work with the Human Resources team to prepare and maintain statistical reports, analyze data and ensure the integrity of information provided to senior management
- Support the onboarding process by assisting with new employee orientation
- Coordinate and manage employee engagement programs, including wellness initiatives, the corporate challenge, and health fair
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding compensation, benefits, and general employment policies
- Participate in Human Resources projects, as necessary
- Perform other administrative duties, as required.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a bachelor's degree and 5+ years' experience in human resources particularly in payroll and benefits
- Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, strongly preferred but not required
- Experience processing payroll accurately and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Demonstrated understanding of employee health and welfare enrollment and billing required
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel and advanced Microsoft Office skills required
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail with a strong comfort level in working with and understanding statistical data
- Strong project management interpersonal skills
- Strong customer service skills absolutely required
- Candidates must be able to work independently and have a sense of urgency.
