A Brief Overview
The Senior Benefits Contracts Analyst works on the Benefits Carrier Management Team. The Senior Benefits Contracts Analyst performs various contract and renewal document reviews relative to external medical and supplemental insurance plans and is responsible for supporting the Carrier Management team by assisting in tracking the team's KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for contract management. The Senior Benefits Contracts Analyst is also responsible for triaging and communicating with internal departments and external carriers during the contract document review process. This position will also participate in or lead various research and analysis projects.

The salary range for this role is $68,400.00 to $116,200.00. The candidate's final salary offer will be based on the candidate's skills, education, work location and experience.
A candidate's compensation may also include bonuses consistent with TriNet's corporate bonus plan.

The Senior Benefits Contracts Analyst works on the Benefits Carrier Management Team. The Senior Benefits Contracts Analyst performs various contract and renewal document reviews relative to external medical and supplemental insurance plans and is responsible for supporting the Carrier Management team by assisting in tracking the team's KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for contract management. The Senior Benefits Contracts Analyst is also responsible for triaging and communicating with internal departments and external carriers during the contract document review process. This position will also participate in or lead various research and analysis projects.

What you will do
- Assist with and/or conduct benefit contract and renewal document reviews, request changes and draft amendments to contracts for existing and prospective carriers/vendors.
- Maintain the appropriate flow of documents through the contract review process in adherence to established procedural rules, as well as tracking reviewers' timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Coordinate movement of documents across departments, gathering input and consolidating edits.
- Facilitate document finalization process, including obtaining required signatures from carrier and TriNet signatories.
- Assisting in the tracking of various data points necessary to maintain and report Key Performance Indicators regarding the processing of all documents related to TriNet's contractual relationships with insurance carriers against specified targets throughout the year.
- Support Benefits Contracts Analyst(s) and Lead Benefits Contracts Analyst as backup for DocuSign processing as needed.
- Review and comment on internal and external-facing documents
- Work with team members to research and respond to inquiries directed to team from business colleagues related to benefit contracts and/or assigned projects.
- Gather data from a variety of sources, compile results and report on findings utilizing MS Excel to create, maintain, manipulate and communicate data critical to the Benefits Carrier Management function.
- Maintain and distribute information, create presentations, reports, and related work for teammates as needed/requested.
- Assist in the coordination of the annual carrier and client renewal process for medical, dental, and other supplemental benefits including validating carrier rates, tracking and reviewing carrier deliverables.

Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and/or related experience preferred
Experience Qualifications
- Typically 5+ years experience in contract management, insurance benefit certificate creation and maintenance, or contract specialist/analyst role required.
- Typically 2+ years of relevant work experience in a corporate/professional environment such as a law firm, corporate legal, contract management department, or insurance carrier benefits document management department preferred.
- Relevant experience with benefits-product development, design and implementation strongly desired.
- PEO (Professional Employer Organization) experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong ability (advanced proficiency) to use the Microsoft Office software suite required, including MS Word track-changes function, MS Excel, and MS Teams. PowerPoint knowledge is necessary for preparation of presentations to all levels of management.
- Familiarity with common legal documents, contract types, key legal terms, and principles including the ability to analyze and effectively edit and comment on various legal and business documents and carrier documentation and/or communications.
- Familiarity with insurance products, plan designs, benefits administration and documentation.
- Ability to coordinate, collaborate and partner effectively with cross-functional teams and external contacts. Project Management skills is a plus.
- Self-starter, team-oriented, with a positive attitude, good business acumen, and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication and attention to detail with the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues at all levels of the organization as well as external contacts.
- Flexibility and a willingness to work on a broad range of tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of contract management tools (Apttus or similar), Salesforce, and Docusign or other e-signature application. Capability to adapt to emerging technology tools and trends.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced continually changing business environment while managing multiple competing priorities with tight deadlines.
- Ability to take ownership and have consistent, accurate follow-through to completion.
- Excellent attention to detail, a willingness to learn new skills and gain additional experience, process improvement, organization, and the ability to effectively problem solve.
