We seek an exceptional, mission-driven individual to serve as Associate Program Manager to our newly formed team on Strategic Initiatives. The team is responsible for identifying and developing new Spirit of America's programs and opportunities that will have high impact in support of national security objectives.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial self-starter who will provide project management, research, writing, and administrative support to the team. The Associate Program Manager will report to the Head of the Strategic Initiatives Group. This is a full-time position based in our Arlington, VA office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic research and planning support, including proposals, presentations, and concept papers
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders including US military, Department of State, foreign officials, and civil society partners
  • Support project lifecycle management including planning, budgeting, procurement, logistics coordination, and post-project assessments
  • Coordinate with US and local partners to gather project media and develop compelling content for donor engagement, in coordination with the media and marketing team
  • Manage administrative functions including scheduling, communication, and serving as liaison between internal teams
  • Assist with financial planning including identifying funding sources and developing program budgets
  • Some internationally travel is expected to fact find and engage with partners, US government, and civilians
  • Other tasks and duties as required to serve Spirit of America's mission

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred, non-degreed candidates with exceptional experiences will be considered
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience, preferably with a think tank, international development organization or in government
  • Exceptional research and writing skills
  • High emotional intelligence and a positive, can-do attitude
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Expertise in using AI tools in research, writing, and analysis
  • Strong project management skills and organizational skills to concurrently perform and prioritize multiple projects and tasks with competing deadlines
  • Genuine connection to Spirit of America's mission and a passion for national security, foreign policy, and America's role in the world
  • Desire to solve problems, not only analyze them

Compensation:

Salary ranges from $70,000 to $95,000 based on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, and 403b contribution match to 4%.
