The primary focus of this role is to ensure your division stays on budget throughout the course of 2025 for all labor and non-labor spend. US Salary Range
$122,000-$183,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. ABOUT THE JOB
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the division stays on budget for all labor and non-labor spend throughout 2025
- Target: Beat budget by [specific percentage to be determined]
- Develop and implement processes to manage real-time spend and conduct retrospective reviews with stakeholders and finance
- Revamp approval queues for spend across different platforms
- Build and lead internal spend meetings to ensure division leads can effectively review and control expenditures
- Develop and maintain comprehensive, bottoms-up cost-driven financial forecast models
- Transform undefined and ambiguous activities into quantifiable, forecastable elements
- Create and manage multi-dimensional tracking systems for complex cost drivers
- Serve as your division's first line of defense for all spend initiatives
- Develop scaled spend contingency plans for various revenue scenarios
- Own the division's response to all planning-related processes (annual planning, LRP, etc.)
- Provide detailed, forward-looking reporting on spend progress vs. goals to divisional stakeholders
- Ensure reporting reflects both Finance team's definitions and operational realities
- Hardware optimization
- Indirect spend strategy, including license optimization and software tool consolidation
- Travel policy enforcement and optimization
- 1099 contractor management
- Drive special spend projects to completion, including
- Proactively identify and propose new spend management ideas based on data analysis and team input
- Collaborate with indirect purchasing to optimize software licensing and hardware procurement
- Develop strategic software decisions to improve terms and reduce unexpected costs
- Standardize options to increase volume discounts and improve overall value
- Populate and maintain the spend tracking platform with all division agreements/renewals
- Build headcount management forums to prioritize labor spend effectively
- Partner with leadership on compensation management for the team
- Build and maintain strong relationships with finance, purchasing, IT/infrastructure, project managers, and business line leaders
- Serve as a liaison between departments to streamline processes and reduce administrative overhead for decision-makers and leads
- Provide clear communication and reporting on financial matters to all relevant stakeholders
- Own divisional Efficiency reporting, financial and operational, to balance strategic spending versus cost savings
- Serve as a key partner to finance, collaborating on process improvements for mid-year budget changes and long-term financial planning
- Lead regular, detailed reviews with key stakeholders (e.g., IT, Engineering, TPMs) to align financial projections with operational realities and adjust long-term cost optimization strategies based on emerging needs and future expectations
- Maintain and prioritize a dynamic list of high ROI spend ideas for leadership to consider for mid-year implementation, ensuring budget neutrality while capitalizing on emerging opportunities for cost savings or strategic investments
- Experience in financial management, preferably with P&L responsibility
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial software such as Coupa, Oracle, NetSuite, and Lumos
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills
- Proven ability to work effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset
- Experience as a startup founder or in roles managing physical inventory/hardware
- Track record of implementing cost-saving initiatives and process improvements
- Low ego and service-oriented approach
- Ability to simplify complex financial concepts for non-financial stakeholders
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Adaptable and comfortable working in ambiguous situations
