Job Title: Radiologic Technologist
Profession: Allied Health

Experience: Minimum of one year of current clinical experience or clinical student experience
License: ARRT registered RT (R) in diagnostic radiology
Certifications: Current State License as a Radiographer
Must-Have: American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider or an approved equivalent
Description:
At the direction of a radiologist or other providers, prepare patients and perform radiographic procedures in diagnostic radiology while operating imaging equipment.
Perform diagnostic studies according to specific guidelines and prescribed protocols while utilizing appropriate radiation protection measures.
Adhere to organizational customer service standards and support organizational excellence initiatives.
Provide positive and effective interaction and communication with patients, visitors, and staff.
Perform ancillary services and assist in patient care areas as necessary.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Perform radiologic and fluoroscopic procedures accurately and efficiently with the least amount of discomfort to the patient.
Explain exams to patients and interview them to obtain personal medical history, documenting this information into the radiology information system.
Provide clear explanation and instruction to patients, assisting them throughout exams, and thank them upon completion.
Ensure correct image identification, including placement of ID markers and proper annotation.
Review each study for technical accuracy.
Work in partnership with other staff to ensure appropriate scheduling and throughput of exams.
Assist in transporting patients as needed.
Communicate and collaborate with radiologists and ordering providers during exams and for guidance on protocols and order clarification.
Approve images, match orders to images, and archive to picture archiving and communication system.
Perform reconciliations accurately and completely in a timely manner documenting study details.
Demonstrate proficiency with electronic medical records systems from order entry to end exam, including notes and documentation.
Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling reassignment and shift rotations to support departmental needs, including weekends and on-call shifts.
Proactively look for additional opportunities to increase efficiency and promote a cohesive work environment.
Offer assistance to others, including preparing exam rooms for the next patient, stocking supplies and linens, and maintaining a clean work area.
Provide a positive teaching and learning environment for staff, students, providers, and visitors.
Act as a mentor and role model and assist in the onboarding of new employees.
Observe malfunctioning equipment and follow proper procedures to report equipment issues and perform minor troubleshooting.
