Description:
The role of the Trauma Nurse Practitioner (TNP) is to provide direct patient care services under the supervision of the Trauma Surgery supervising physician. The TNP performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies, prescribes appropriate interventions and medication, coordinates the care and discharge of patients and provides direct patient care services.
Requirements:
Valid California RN license Master's degree in Nursing Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, with certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in California Certified Registered Nurse First Assist (CRNFA) preferred Current BLS, ACLS ATLS (obtain within 6 months) Minimum 5 years experience as RN, with 3 years Critical Care 1 year experience as Nurse Practitioner preferred State of California prescriptive authority (or obtain with 6 months) Experience with computer and other productivity application Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required
