Description

Overview:

The Vice President, Information Technology, in support of the office of Deacon Health's Chief Technology Officer, will lead the technology design, architecture, and engineering for all software product development. This role involves driving the development of scalable solutions, collaborating on product design and delivery, and aligning technical initiatives with business goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare technologies, extensive leadership experience, and a passion for leveraging innovation to improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee Technology Design, Architecture and Engineering
  • Lead cross-functional teams to design innovative healthcare products.
  • Create an application engineering strategy with documented architecture.
  • Evaluate current technology stack for current and future needs
  • Establish and enforce technology strategy, policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of the company's technology infrastructure.
  • Provide input to the technology budgets and resource allocation.

Manage Integration of Healthcare Technology Solutions
  • Evaluate and implement healthcare-specific technology platforms.
  • Ensure seamless integration with existing workflows and compliance with regulations.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies to enhance product offerings.

Foster Partnerships and Collaborations
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders in the healthcare industry, specifically for technology.
  • Provide input and support negotiations with strategic providers and technology vendors.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to align technology initiatives with business goals.

Spearhead Commercialization Efforts
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders ensuring alignment on positioning and messaging.
  • Monitor and review post-launch performance to optimize market penetration.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and in media as needed.

Drive Continuous Improvement
  • Provide input and data around engineering KPIs to measure success and team effectiveness.
  • Optimize product development processes for efficiency and quality.


Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ year proven experience as an engineering leader or in a similar leadership role within the healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare technology, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse technology team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data analytics, and cybersecurity.
  • Passion for innovation and a deep understanding of emerging technologies.

Work Environment:

The role routinely uses digital solutions to manage, store, and share information. Key characteristics of the environment include digital documentation, electronic communication, cloud storage, digital signatures, workflow automation, and digital security.
