We're seeking a dynamic leader at the intersection of data & analytics, strategy, and program/ change management to oversee the team and chart the course to lead the federation of Data & Analytics across enterprises. This is an exciting new role that will lead change, define new ways of collaborating across business units/ enterprises, and harness the power of data and analytics to help deliver accelerated growth and impact to the business teams across Schwab.
The Federated Data & Analytics Program leader will rally their program team, existing centralized analytics teams, and existing business-embedded teams around a new operating model for delivering business-aligned analytics insights at Schwab. That model will balance efforts to enable, empower, and protect data & analytics professionals and the firm.
Based on an established vision, you'll develop an operating model that fosters dialogue and planning across the data & analytics teams (regardless of current structural alignment) the business stakeholder teams to gather information pertinent to governance, tooling, and education/ enablement. As the plans are developed, they will enable Schwab to 'federate' select data & analytics teams into the business, and this role will oversee the change management/ execution, evangelizing the new federated model across the firm.
You will bring us from concept to executed, organized change and then continue to lead your team to operate, observe, and adjust model to increase future effectiveness and impact.
Given the organizational change management, the leader will be adept at bringing along data & analytics professionals, business stakeholders and colleagues leading other central data programs. You will thrive in an environment that looks at problems and opportunities from a total company point of view to mitigate risk and maximize efficiency/ effectiveness of federating select central teams into the business and developing ongoing monitoring.

What you'll be responsible for:
- Directly manage, coach, and mentor a new program team of various backgrounds with data, analytics, and program management
- Define a point of view on the core requirements for operating a federated data & analytics team
- Develop a playbook to enable leaders of federated business teams to have access to tools and standards to empower their teams
- Inventory the work needed to enable federation of data & analytics and build clear and ambitious project plans to deliver it cross-functionally, connecting into expertise and work done by the Schwab Data organization
- Stand up continuous monitoring to ensure federated teams are managing data risks appropriately and adhering to required processes for data development and metrics standards
- Craft recurring updates for practitioners, business partners and senior leaders covering progress to date, upcoming plans, and key discussions/ actions needed
- Continue to mature the federated model over time, accounting for lessons learned and changes in the broader data & analytics or business environments
What you have
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with data and analytics processes in a large enterprise environment.
- Experience developing organizational models to manage data risk across various domains while allowing local autonomy for business-centric data curation and analytics development
- 10+ years of experience leading change management programs and/ or diverse strategic initiatives, at the intersection of business value and company-wide processes/ standards
- 5+ years of direct people leadership experience, not dotted line or project teams - the team reported directly to you, and you have been responsible for hiring, performance appraisals, etc.
- Strong project planning & execution skills, with a track record of working across teams to enroll support, delegate work items, and coordinate connection points
- Proven communication skills to evangelize the case for change, contextualize new processes/ programs, and obtain the buy-in with both practitioners and senior leaders
- Working knowledge of how analysts retrieve data from relational databases and unstructured data stores and then create insights using statistical tools and packages and visualization tools
- Ability to embrace feedback & perspectives from multiple stakeholders, while synthesizing the best course of action from a total company lens that balances between speed/ agility and efficiency/ risk management

- Direct experience with data development (querying databases), building dashboards, and structuring complex ad hoc analyses

- Bachelor's degree
- Financial services industry experience
