GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sr. Director of Behavioral Health Service Lines serves as an integral member of the Behavioral Health (BH) leadership team. Reporting directly to the Chief Behavioral Health Officer (CBHO), while working closely with the behavioral health management team, the Sr. Director of Behavioral Health is responsible for ensuring the implementation of daily clinical activities, aligning with desired organizational outcomes, accreditation standards and conforming to regulatory requirements across all behavioral health programs and service lines.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILIRIES: (In collaboration with the CBHO)
Conducts program(s) utilization/management audits necessary to maintain clinical processes, practices and procedures in accordance with HRSA, Joint Commission, NYS DOH, OASAS, OMH and WYH requirements.
Monitors program specific strategies and interventions to ensure program effectiveness in fulfillment of quality measures, regulatory guidelines, value-based purchasing and other pay-for-performance programs.
Coordinates program improvement activities for Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Care Coordination and Community Prevention and Treatment Services-while assisting program directors in the development of dashboards designed to inform/enhance program performance outcomes.
Ensures the implementation of BH clinic workflows to enhance the delivery of Collaborative Care services across the WYH network of care-through the use and sustainability of behavioral health medicine-practice principles.
Serve as Project Director/Principal Investigator for various grant-funded service projects from time to time as WYH secures and implements programs that are partially or fully sustained by extramural funding. Duties include hiring, training and supervising staff supported by those grants as well as collaborating with the Finance Dept. in budgeting for those grant awards. Also expected to prepare and submit progress reports to funders as required in the terms and conditions of such awards.
Serve as a member on the electronic health record (EHR) implementation team(s) and super-user for all levels of care-across the behavioral health service continuum and primary care-while possessing, the ability to articulate quality elements to be included on the platform(s) for each program.
Build and maintain alliances with Equinox affiliate departments responsible for functional aspects and wrap around services designed to enhance the BH continuum of care, including day-treatment, housing, and other community-support services.
Review clinical program indicators for accuracy, provide analytical reports and recommendations for improved practices and program delivery.
Serve as a co-chair on the Joint Commission BH work group.
Possess strong interpersonal, organizational and managerial skills to motivate and assist staff with accountability and best practice standards.
Possess a working knowledge of the health-care environment, as it related to persons diagnosed with addiction/co-occurring disorders, severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) and medical co-morbidities.
Provide supervision for staff seeking advancement in clinical licensure and provide preceptorship for students from behavioral health training programs
Maintain required continuing education requirements for licensure each year
Demonstrate excellence in both internal and external customer service.
Display an ability to communicate effectively- HIPAA compliance, corporate compliance and client confidentiality.
Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as defined by the Joint Commission and Whitney M. Young Jr. Health Services.

Completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

Licensed Mental Health professional with at least (7) years of clinical practice experience and a minimum of (5) years of supervisory experience. NY State license as an autonomous clinician required. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

Prior experience working with low-income individuals/underserved population in a community-based setting. Prior program management experience in a mental health and/or addictions treatment facility, a primary care setting and an understanding of Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) principles. NYS CASAC credential.

Salary range: $109,000 - $125,000 annually
