Job Description

As a Field Service Engineer, you will install and modify equipment at customer facilities to ensure full functionality. You will review performance reports and documentation, inspect malfunctioning or damaged products, determine the source of problems, and recommend repairs or replacements. You will provide on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment, including PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Siemens, ABB, Fanuc). Additionally, you will develop service handbooks and bulletins based on engineering changes and provide a communication link between the customer and the company to ensure effective service.
Responsibilities
  • Install new or modified equipment at customer facilities to ensure full functionality.
  • Review performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives.
  • Inspect malfunctioning or damaged products to determine the nature and scope of problems.
  • Determine the source of problems and recommend repairs or replacements.
  • Coordinate problem resolution with engineering.
  • Review machine designs and engineering drawings.
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and/or program PLCs (e.g., Siemens, ABB, Fanuc).
  • Analyze reports of technical problems to identify trends affecting future design, production, service, and processes.
  • Develop service handbooks and bulletins based on engineering changes.
  • Provide a communication link between customers and the company to ensure effective service.
  • Handle electrical wiring and conduit requirements.

Work Environment

You will work in a very large, clean manufacturing space attached to a multi-story office building. When not traveling, you will spend your time troubleshooting equipment. You will travel up to 75% of the time, with majority of the jobs lasting 3 days at a time. Some projects may extend up to 2 weeks, although this is uncommon. You will travel throughout the the person States, with occasional trips to Mexico and Canada. The work schedule consists of 10-12 hour days, with overtime paid at time and a half for hours worked over 40. You will be provided with various benefits, including tuition reimbursement, an onsite clinic with free medication, a 401k plan, an onsite gym, and a $150 steel toe reimbursement. You might have to work on some holidays, such as Thanksgiving and the 4th of July.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $43.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Cleveland,OH.
