The Connected Commerce Lending Innovation team is a key business within Chase's Consumer and Community Banking group which is dedicated to meeting the borrowing and financing needs of our customers through installment lending solutions. As a Vice President of General Management - Lending Product Strategy within the Alternative Lending team, you will play a pivotal role in the development, launch, and growth of future products on our consumer lending product roadmap. Your focus will be on building the next generation of lending products, starting with our first 'Buy Now, Pay Later' (BNPL) product, Chase Pay in 4. This product allows customers to take out installment loans on purchases made with their Chase checking accounts.

Your role requires a high level of curiosity, self-motivation, and experience in product innovation in consumer lending, including zero to one builds and product refreshes. You should have a proven track record of supporting successful end-to-end product launches. Being customer-obsessed, you will use customer data and insights to develop strategy. Strong collaboration skills are essential for working with our QUAD partners (Design, Technology, Data & Analytics and Product) and key cross-functional partners (Risk, Legal, Compliance, Operations and Controls). You should also have the flexibility to adapt to internal and competitive market dynamics.

Job responsibilities
  • Be a self-starter and work independently to develop strategic frameworks through which to evaluate new opportunities and conducting necessary analysis to drive decisions
  • Refine and develop the product construct for the next Alternative Lending use case, working to bring the new product to market.
    • Perform analysis and competitive benchmarking to inform decisions on the product features and value proposition
    • Partner closely with Alternative Lending Product team to support product discovery, customer research, and program management
    • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of Marketing, Product, Analytics, Legal, Finance, Design, and Risk Management partners to ensure the product strategy meets business objectives and customer needs
    • Develop business cases and oversee ongoing financial forecasting and budgeting in partnership with Finance and Risk
    • Develop key performance metric dashboards in support of product launch
    • Manage executive stakeholder relationships and regularly communicate updates on the product strategy, progress, and performance
    • Assist in preparation for key governance forums required to launch new products
  • Become a subject matter expert (SME) in Buy Now, Pay Later installment loans; manage all competitive insights on the BNPL industry, including maintaining up-to-date benchmarking, creating executive communication for strategic, financial, and product updates from BNPL players
    • Help inform Alt. Lending product discovery through benchmarking of competitive features and benefits

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 5+ years of experience in a strategy, product management or a relevant domain area
  • Proven track record of managing a new business or product launch
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Able to analyze opportunities, recommend solutions, and communicate effectively (both verbal and written) to all levels of management
  • Proven success in collaborating with cross-functional teams, influencing and driving decisions
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, deadlines and work streams
  • Past experience in credit risk and financial modeling preferred
  • Consumer lending experience is preferred; additional preference for those with Credit Card or Unsecured Installment Lending experience
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience writing executive-level communications, presentations, and status updates
  • Be comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative and cross-functional environment
