Successful candidates should have the following:
- 5+ years of public accounting experience
- 2+ years of direct management experience
- Possess a broad understanding of Tax Law with specialized knowledge in a particular area(s) of partnerships, HNW individuals, corporations, taxation of pass-throughs, entities, estate and gift tax, investment advisory, and/or financial planning.
- Ability to prepare working trial balance and year-end adjusting entries.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related fields
- CPA certification is required
- Strong technical skills pertaining to tax preparation and review, tax compliance, and tax research
- Excellent skills analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to utilize Excel, Word, and CCH Axcess
- Outstanding leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills, fostering client and staff relationships
A day-in-the-life basic overview includes:
- Review HNW Individual, partnership returns, gift, trust and estate, joint venture, and non-corporate entity tax returns, combined state tax returns, and tax compliance
- Supervise senior staff and managers and review complex HNW Individual Tax Returns.
- Manage and develop income tax and financial planning clients.
- Work closely with tax partners and other staff on client management, practice development, and business development activities.
- Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure client satisfaction, meet deadlines, and effectively lead change efforts.
- Consult, collaborate with, and service clients to make business and process improvement recommendations and serve as a business adviser to clients.
- Supervise and help drive the success of multiple engagements in partnership and individual taxation.
- Preparing year-end projections
- Researching various Tax issues
- Mentoring Associates and guiding them on Tax issues
- Maintaining presentation skills (oral and written)
