We are looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition leader to join EPCOR's dynamic HR team.

As a strategic leader, you'll play a crucial role in the development and performance of the Talent Acquisition function for EPCOR USA. This includes oversight and management of the Talent Acquisition team, internal and external recruitment tools and strategies, processes, support services, Talent Acquisition programs and centralized onboarding.

What you'll be responsible for
  • Talent Acquisition Strategic Plans: Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition management team on strategic plans that are anticipatory and business-partner focused, ensuring alignment with EPCOR's Long-Term Plan and HR Strategy.
  • Budget Planning: Identify budget requirements and participate in the budgeting process for sourcing software, support tools, recruitment marketing, and other related costs.
  • Team Management: Create, manage, coach, and mentor a strong team. Provide ongoing training and oversight of the recruitment team on internal recruitment and external compliance processes, interview techniques, sourcing strategies, social recruitment and applicant tracking systems, etc.
  • Program Development: Alongside their Canadian counterpart, develop and review Talent Acquisition Programs to ensure consistency and efficiency across EPCOR.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in Talent Acquisition processes, procedures, programs, technology, and tools, including in helping to build appropriate business cases and arguments to gain support or funding from stakeholders and senior business leaders on initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with key stakeholders across EUSA (i.e. HR, Payroll, Public Affairs, IT, Security, etc.) to maintain strong relationships and meet strategic goals.
  • Social Media Strategies: Collaborate with Public Affairs and the broader Talent Acquisition team to develop and implement social media strategies to enhance EPCOR's employer brand.
  • Project Leadership: Lead project teams to develop and implement Talent Acquisition initiatives, focusing on sourcing talent in remote locations, hard to find skillsets, challenging labour markets, and supporting diversity and inclusion efforts. Ensure optimal internal communications and appropriate change management for all initiatives.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and ensure high-quality work from Talent Acquisition Advisors and Consultants. This includes reviewing offer details (i.e. compensation, selection rationale) before they are extended to candidates.
  • Performance Metrics and Data Analysis: Establish, monitor, measure, and report performance metrics, analyzing and addressing issues impacting performance. Monitor key metrics to measure and predict staffing activity. Extract and assess recruitment data to monitor workloads, identify trends, report to HR leadership, and modify processes and procedures.
  • Manage Full Cycle Recruiting: Oversee the entire recruitment process, from job postings to extending job offers.
  • Collaborate and Build Relationships: Work closely with Business Unit leaders and hiring managers to understand their hiring needs and develop broader sourcing strategies. Maintain relationships with new and existing contacts to understand future labor market and recruitment trends.


What's required to be successful
  • Educational background: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field. SHRM designation desired.
  • Experience: 7+ years of progressively responsible Recruitment or Human Resources experience. 2+ years of proven experience as a Recruitment Manager or similar role, including training in recruitment processes and compliance with employment laws.
  • Knowledge of Employment Laws: In-depth understanding of federal employment laws such as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Work Ethic and Critical Thinking: Strong work ethic and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Recruitment Processes: Strong knowledge of full cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems, ERP and Microsoft applications. Adept with social media applications for recruitment (LinkedIn, Indeed, Facebook, etc.).
  • Data Analysis: Proven ability to analyze and interpret data, extract and assess recruitment data to monitor workloads, identify trends, and modify processes and procedures.
  • Budget Planning: Experience in identifying budget requirements and participating in the budgeting process for recruitment-related costs.
