Compensation Range
Annual Salary: $102,500.00 - $121,000.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to manage a team of Specialty Healthcare Account Managers, while also directly engaging with Remit-Connect clients.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for assigned Remit-Connect retention and expansion by building relationships with key personnel of assigned accounts
  • Ensure clients receive appropriate products and services, and assist in the annual pricing reviews
  • Identify additional opportunities to utilize Commercial Payment products and take a lead role in discussing and resolving operational issues, work with client to adopt best practices with the solutions, and drive new ideas execution with internal teams
  • Introduce appropriate products to portfolio accounts including software and technology for the current business line the Account Manager supports, as well as alternate business lines in Commercial Payments
  • Assist in the development of innovative ideas for obtaining portfolio lift and retention, identification, and implementation of tactical measures throughout the portfolio of managed accounts; incorporate these measures into program business reviews in a consistent and timely manner; champion uniformity across all Account Managers as it pertains to the key performance indicators for volume, electronic rates, client ROI, net contribution growth and management of assigned accounts
  • Build and maintain reporting to monitor business plans, call reports, enrollment, cross-selling opportunities, volume growth, attrition, and other key performance indicators for Account Managers in their assigned territories as it pertains to overall group goals and effectiveness; conduct surveys of client's program administrators and c-level executives to gauge client satisfaction
  • Remain up to date on training and education related to products, pricing and services offered including new product offerings, technical enhancements, and industry changes
  • Mentor team members on handling more complex customer, product, service, or technical situations
  • Assist in creating and managing the vision for the Account Management
  • Lead, mentor and motivate team members to implement the department strategy and manage department workflow with guidance on departmental projects/issues, and provide coaching and development opportunities appropriate to each direct report's individual needs
  • Perform all necessary management functions, including hiring, evaluations, annual increase allocations and disciplinary action as required
  • Communicate decisions, priorities and relevant information to team members effectively
  • Support budget management, planning and expenditure
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Strong knowledge of the healthcare revenue cycle industry as it pertains to account expansion, retention, competition, and pricing; including knowledge of best practices, complex industry trends, and regulations
  • Ability to consult with clients on revenue cycle and cash posting strategies including how Commerce Solutions can provide value
  • Knowledge of industry rules and regulations including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and Healthcare Revenue Cycle
  • Working knowledge of hospital billing systems, patient accounting systems, processing systems and competitive products, reporting/reconciliation products and their features
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and meet Commerce Bank's driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to apply discretion and sound judgement to efficiently and effectively solve problems
  • Ability to drive results and balance management of organizational risk and meeting goals of the business
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate team members and foster a positive team environment that gives way to collaboration and unified goals
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the company, clearly expressing ideas and concepts both verbally and in writing, and to drive strategic business unit goals to the bottom line

  • Advance level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook


Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 6+ years healthcare or payments experience in account management, sales, marketing, or accounting required
  • 5+ years business to business sales or client management experience required
  • 3+ years leadership/supervisory experience required
  • Contract negotiation experience preferred
  • CRCR certification preferred
  • Network of relationships in healthcare finance and/or revenue cycle preferred

At Commerce, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $102,500 to $121,000 annually. This position will be eligible for additional compensation through performance-based incentive plan(s) that will correspond to meeting performance goals.
