Join one of the nation's most comprehensive academic medical centers, UChicago Medicine, as a Senior Programmer. This position will be primarily a work from home opportunity with the requirement to come onsite as needed. You are not required to reside within the greater Chicagoland area.

Under general direction, the Senior Programer devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Designs, codes, tests, debug, and documents these programs. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of programming activities. Note: This position does not perform system analysis functions.

Essential Job Functions
  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems
  • Designs, codes, tests, debug, and documents programs
  • May be responsible for the completion of a phase of a project
  • Provides guidance and training to less-experienced analyst/programmers
  • May, under general direction, formulate and define system scope and objectives
  • Develop and maintain high performing and secure Sitecore websites tailored for healthcare audiences
  • Collaborate with Marketing team, UI/UX designers, IT teams, and business stakeholders to ensure a patient-centric, compliant digital experience
  • Lead development efforts across multiple Sitecore environments (Dev, Stage, Prod) ensuring stability and consistency
  • Participate in scrum meetings and contribute to sprint planning, estimations, and retrospectives
  • Provide technical guidance to junior developers and establish coding standards and best practices for Sitecore development

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant certification in programming, Computer science and/or healthcare, business management or information systems is required
  • Minimum of 5 year of .NET/C# programming experience, including 3 years of designing, developing and maintaining Sitecore-based website and applications (v10+)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with customization and implementation of various Sitecore features including components, templates, layouts and workflows
  • Proficiency in HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, Web APIs, and modern JS frameworks (React, NextJS)
  • Experience with Sitecore Headless (JSS), and Experience Accelerator (SXA) is strongly desirable
  • Experience with Azure DevOps platform, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure cloud-based Sitecore deployments
  • Minimum two-year experience in technical documentation writing
  • Proven skills in problem solving
  • Must work well in a team environment and be able to partner with both business and technical team members
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills required
  • Requires strong multitasking skills; must be a self-starter and able to deliver results on a proactive and independent basis

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a health care environment helpful
  • Sitecore Certified Developer (10+)

Compensation & Benefits Overview

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
