We call this our 'portfolio accounts group' and the work behind the scenes is guided by a group of nimble yet rigorous and entrepreneurial makers. We roll up our sleeves to play with some of the most interesting challenges, all which lead to brands for modern affluents. We are looking to add a solid Associate Strategy Director to this team.

From KBHome, Ritz-Carlton, Barclays Investment Bank, The Real Real, Cathay Pacific, Dom Perignon, Hennessy, Uber, Me and The Bees, among others, there is a lot of variety held together by the simple premise that a brand should be more than a necessity-it is a catalyst to your aspirations.

For this role, you will be the "deputy" who gets to dig in with the Managing Director of Strategy to unlock great work.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day on two key accounts, KB Home and Ritz Carlton. These clients have different needs, yet are both true collaborators and expect their Strategist to be a proactive partner. Both accounts require a proactive consultative approach to strategy. We are looking for someone with business smarts as well as a passion for aspirational culture. Good storytelling skills and excellent client partnership skills are required.

KB Home
  • KB Home responsibilities include day-to-day strategic guidance and expertise on KB Home's advertising
  • Create briefs, strategies, POVs, presentations, research reports, and other strategic deliverables
  • Work closely with Analytics, Creative, Media, and Account teams to create remarkable work that's on-strategy
  • Build and maintain a close working relationship with client CMO and marketing team
  • Present briefs and strategies to day-to-day client (brand CMO)


This individual is a strong subject matter expert on client business, category, and consumer insights. He or she is a rising leader in a group. This person will work closely with research, qualitative and quantitative. He or she must have great writing and presentation skills, be fluent with data but also able to tease out a broader story from it, manage multiple work streams independently, and be a very strong client partner.

The KB Home clients are very hands-on and have a familial yet respectful culture. It is important that this strategist can read the room, speak openly and honestly, be extremely detailed and be part of a "thinking" organization. We question everything on KB... big and small. This person should have the chops to do that.

The Ritz-Carlton

We have an excellent working relationship with the head of luxury at Marriott. We play a solid consultative role, helping thought leadership and developing inspiring POVs that are delivered to help internal constituents across the globe truly live out the RC experience in a modern luxury context. In any given week, you may find yourself developing these points of views and presentations, or developing materials, such as workshops, etc., to help the Ritz-Carlton continue to live up to its Northstar across the board. We have recently launched a brand campaign,"Stay with You," and although this has been extremely effective and it is well loved work, there is a need to continue to push this through internally so that every touch point can be inspired by the same point of view.

On top of these two incredible clients, you will have the ability to partner with other Strategists in working on new business pitches, project based work for new clients, and internal initiatives to spread the Team One magic.

Day to Day
  • Guide day-to-day workflow on multiple projects, with support of Strategy leadership. Must be a leader, a self-starter who does not shy away from their ideas, and an optimizer. Personable, sociable, and is readily available and present to support clients.
  • Strong presentation and brief writer of actionable strategic writing and has gravity with clients including their research team; has experience working with Senior Leadership in an organization.
  • Contribute to and consult on research. Work with our internal research team to create smart and effective research approaches - mainly creative and strategy evaluation research.
  • Distill insights from research group brand tracker study to help inform strategies.
  • Curious and entrepreneurial approach to planning, including innovative approaches, target development, behavioral briefs, etc. Has the ability to solve problems in a room, on a call, on big business problems in a market where it's challenging to sell homes.
  • Represents value and impact of strategy to client and internal stakeholders. Has the ability to not just have great ideas, but to also persuade others to buy into their ideas verbally and in writing while being open to others' ideas.
  • Driver of integration across working teams on a given project or campaign - Creative, Media, Analytics, Account, etc. Ensure work is on-strategy and remarkable.
  • Proactively spot business opportunities for KB and for Team One in the near and long term; having a growth mindset.
  • Fluency in consumers, culture, context including social/mobile/digital channels, research and more. Able to connect the dots and speak to all Strategy deliverables such as comms plan, social strategy, big idea, etc.
  • Write and secure business effectiveness award case studies - responsible for taking the lead on writing and winning business effectiveness case studies.


Qualifications

Experience: 8+ years of experience working as a strategist at an integrated agency. Luxury or premium experience desired but not a deal breaker.

Education: College degree is strongly preferred; graduate degree is a plus.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be proficient with basic computer programs including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Must be hardworking, articulate, creative, curious, and analytical.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a predisposition toward embracing the many details, many meetings, many opinions, all the rework required to thrive in the brands culture.
  • Works well under pressure and can manage multiple work-streams independently.
  • Empathetic and effective mentor and collaborator and is an easy-going and polished client partner.

Working Conditions: Team One is a professional, fast-paced, creative business environment. All employees are expected to support Team One's commitment to providing a respectful & safe workplace.
