This role oversees the complete technology stack for mortgage origination and servicing, ensuring optimal integration between loan origination systems, servicing platforms, point of sale solutions, and CRM tools. The position drives technological innovation while maintaining operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President - Mortgage, the Mortgage Systems Manager serves as a strategic leader bridging the Mortgage Lending business and Technology teams. This role oversees the complete technology stack for mortgage origination and servicing, ensuring optimal integration between loan origination systems, servicing platforms, point of sale solutions, and CRM tools. The position drives technological innovation while maintaining operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
Essential Functions
- Core System Management: Direct the mortgage technology ecosystem, with primary focus on Encompass (LOS), MSP (Servicing Core), and point of sale systems. Ensure optimal configuration and performance of all integrated systems and customizations.
- Strategic Leadership: Serve as the strategic point of contact between Mortgage Lending leadership, Technology teams, and external vendors regarding mortgage system functionality, integration priorities, and roadmap alignment.
- Integration and Process Optimization: Lead cross-functional initiatives to integrate mortgage systems (LOS, CRM, pricing engines, document platforms, etc.) with enterprise applications, ensuring seamless experiences for internal stakeholders and members. Establish and maintain comprehensive version control processes for business rules, system configurations, and integrations.
- Data Strategy and Analytics: Partner with Business Analyst(s) to develop and implement data analytics strategies, ensuring robust reporting capabilities and data-driven decision making throughout mortgage operations. Oversee the development of dashboards, reports, and analytical tools.
- Vendor and Project Management: Manage relationships with technology partners while ensuring service level compliance. Lead complex technology initiatives from conception to implementation, ensuring alignment with budget and timeline constraints.
- Strategic Planning and Innovation: Evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance mortgage operations. Develop and execute technology roadmaps aligned with organizational objectives.
- Mortgage Systems Help Desk Oversight: Manage and oversee the technical help desk dedicated to supporting mortgage employees with system-related issues. Establish troubleshooting protocols, escalation paths, and knowledge management resources specific to mortgage systems.
- Compliance and Security: Collaborate with compliance, risk, and information security teams to maintain system integrity and regulatory adherence. Implement and maintain appropriate controls for system access and data protection.
- Change Management Support: Support training and change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new tools and processes across the organization.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Comprehensive understanding of mortgage industry technology, particularly loan origination systems
- Advanced knowledge of Encompass software and its customization capabilities
- Experience with mortgage servicing platforms
- Demonstrated expertise in project management and complex technology implementation
- Proficient understanding of database structures
- Experience with business intelligence tools, particularly Power BI, including dashboard development and data modeling
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with emphasis on translating business requirements into technical solutions
- Excellence in both written and verbal communication, particularly in explaining technical concepts to various stakeholders
- Strategic thinker with a process improvement mindset and ability to balance business goals and technical feasibility
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in mortgage technology roles, with demonstrated leadership experience
- Proven track record in implementing and managing mortgage technology solutions, particularly Encompass
- Experience with mortgage servicing systems
- Strong understanding of mortgage regulations and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated success in change management and technology adoption initiatives within the mortgage industry
- Experience managing third-party vendor relationships and integration projects
Preferred
- Experience in credit union, bank, or other regulated financial institution environment
- Familiarity with integration platforms (e.g., APIs, middleware, ETL tools) from a business leadership perspective
- PMP, CMB, or similar industry certifications
