The Brass Tacks (What you'll do):
  • Confidently represent World Trade Center Seattle (WTCSE) and Columbia Hospitality in high-level conversations with business leaders, community organization, city officials, industry associations and all other external entities
  • World Trade Center Seattle is an innovative partnership which brings together the Port of Seattle, the international trade community, leading regional and international corporations, and an impressive array of nonprofit organizations
  • Drive growth in sponsorships, memberships, and revenue by identifying and pitching strategic opportunities to major corporations and community stakeholders, securing high-level contributions and long-term support
  • Represent WTCSE through active participation in civic, business, and industry organizations and events
  • Partner with leadership on long-range planning, brand positioning, and impact strategy
  • Create and host values-driven programs and events aligned with Port of Seattle priorities, global trade, sustainability, and civic innovation (including quarterly all member receptions and other ongoing member engagement programs)
  • Develop membership experiences that go beyond events-cultivating a sense of belonging and shared purpose among a diverse audience
  • Champion nonprofit member organizations by curating opportunities for visibility and impact across WTCSE platforms
  • Serve as an ambassador of the space-welcoming guests, hosting VIPs, and ensuring a consistently exceptional hospitality experience
  • Embrace the role with a heart for hospitality and ensure the comfort and satisfaction of our members and their guests
  • Manage membership information, develop referral programs and prioritize high level sponsorships
  • Participate in community and professional organizations. Represent and promote the organization through community involvement
  • Provide financial oversight of budgets related to programming, membership, and events; assist in forecasting and reporting
  • Select, supervise, train, develop, schedule, discipline, and counsel team members. Demonstrates positive leadership characteristics that empower and inspire team members to meet and exceed standards
  • Provide timely formal assessment of individual team members in alignment with the performance review policy and procedures
  • Conduct training on job standards and areas of responsibility as needed


The Nitty Gritty (Preferred Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree (BA) in Business, Communications or Public Administration (or similar) from four-year college or university
  • Master's in business or public administration strongly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding public-speaking and presentation skills - previous experience essential
  • Minimum one year of experience in fundraising, sponsorship or strategic partnerships roles
  • Demonstrated success in networking, relationship management and executive engagement
  • Experience with membership-based organizations, civic initiatives and/or public/private partnerships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to collaborate and effectively influence multiple stakeholders with differing perspectives. This includes writing proposals and contracts, business correspondence, programming scripts and panel discussion questions. As well as the ability to effectively present information to team members, guests, owners, and others (virtually and in-person)
  • Experience leading a team with diverse members at every level of the organization
  • Familiarity with the Seattle business, civic and philanthropic landscape is important
