JOB SUMMARY
The Benefits team is responsible for the overall strategy, design, and management of benefits and resources to attract, retain, and develop top talent. The Senior Manager, Retirement Programs is a key member of the Benefits leadership team, focusing on Marriott's retirement benefits and financial wellbeing resources. This role involves developing benefit program strategies, managing ongoing plan operations and vendor relationships to ensure high performance and cost-effective execution, and optimizing the employee experience as part of our holistic total rewards offering. The Senior Manager will ensure benefit plans are administered in accordance with Marriott's policies and procedures and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. This individual will serve as the expert on Marriott's retirement plans, proactively monitoring legislative changes, industry trends, and competitive positioning to deliver high-quality retirement benefits.
The Senior Manager, Retirement Programs will partner with teammates, key stakeholders, and cross-functional teams such as Finance, Payroll, Technology, and Legal to deliver a comprehensive benefits package. Additionally, this role will collaborate with the Take Care team to provide financial wellness services, tools, and resources to associates, supporting Marriott's holistic wellbeing program. This individual may also be responsible for other benefit programs and initiatives in support of Marriott's total rewards offerings
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
7+ years' experience in retirement plan administration, consulting, or management, including experience with industry-leading recordkeeping systems
Strong knowledge of retirement plan regulations, including IRS and DOL requirements
Demonstrated excellence in program and project management
Preferred
Experience with deferred compensation programs
Experience with Collective Bargaining Agreements
Experience with International/TCN Retirement Plans
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Manage $10.5B+ in assets within US retirement plans, including a qualified defined contribution plan, a Puerto Rico defined contribution plan, and active and frozen non-qualified defined contribution plans.
Oversee annual requirements such as non-discrimination testing, compliance materials, non-qualified plan enrollment, required processes, and the annual audit cycle.
Manage recordkeeping and custodian vendors to ensure high-quality programs and adherence to plan guidelines.
Ensure plans are administered in accordance with IRS and DOL regulations and specific plan documents.
Maintain up-to-date plan documents, SPDs, compliance notices, and participant communication materials.
Ensure the integrity of the Company's general ledger records related to retirement plans' liabilities.
Develop and implement financial wellbeing tools and resources as part of Marriott's TakeCare wellbeing program.
Identify and implement improvements to policies, procedures, programs, and benefits leveraging technology solutions and vendor resources.
Collaborate with senior leaders to develop, recommend, and implement retirement plan strategies to meet business needs.
Provide guidance to resolve issues that cannot be resolved by the plans' recordkeepers and address plan compliance issues in partnership with Legal and the Plan Administrator.
Manage all aspects of retirement plan changes related to mergers and acquisitions.
Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
The salary range for this position is $108,300 to $173,400 annually.
