The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Program Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing programmatic regulatory reporting requirements associated with EHS compliance to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Ideal locations for this role are TX and GA.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for leading and directing the environmental, health and safety reporting for water, wastewater, and public works operations projects.

Responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for Environmental reporting requirements including but not limited to NPDES, CWA, SDWA, EPCRA, RCRA, SPCC, RMP, Tier II, TRI and other applicable air and waste regulations.
  • Understand the environmental compliance regulatory environment for applicable programs and be knowledgable of Environmental Protection Agency regulations (Federal and State)
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations (Federal and State) to assist with DOT compliance as needed.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations (Federal and State) to assist with OSHA compliance as needed.
  • Track safety and compliance metrics, identify opportunities, and work with EHS staff to implement initiaves that will enhance and improve the programs.
  • Track and report progress related to corrective action plans developed to improve EHS and compliance.
  • Assist with preparing or responding to regulatory inspections to ensure that any required actions are completed or information provided.
  • Maintain knowledge of new regulations and standards as they are introduced and/or changed that impact company operations.
  • Develop, provide, and continuously improve EHS recordkeeping and reporting programs.
  • Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years of experience in environmental management, compliance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's License. P.E., CHMM, or Project Management Certification a plus

Technical: Ability to produce high quality documents for clients and regulatory agencies. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications & internet. Advanced knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations. Further knowledge of these regulations in various states is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to travel to projects as needed. Sitting, standing, walking on uneven ground, up and down stairs and in process areas, bending and lifting are required to perform job responsibilities. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 20 lbs.
