Job Description
BYU Marriott Director of Employer Development, Engagement and Recruiting Operations
The Director of Employer Development, Engagement and Recruiting Operations plays a crucial leadership role within the BYU Marriott Business Career Center (BCC). Reporting to the Assistant Dean responsible for career development and placement services, this position leads all efforts to expand the number of engaged employers who actively recruit BYU Marriott students for internships and full-time positions. The Director supervises both the Employer Development Manager and the Recruiting Operations Manager while serving as a key member of the BCC Leadership Council responsible for strategic direction and day-to-day execution. This role is essential in cultivating relationships with recruiters, alumni, and company executives to create robust career opportunities for students while ensuring employer satisfaction and alignment with BYU Marriott's Vision, Mission and Values.

BYU Marriott Director of Employer Development, Engagement and Recruiting Operations
The Director of Employer Development, Engagement and Recruiting Operations plays a crucial leadership role within the BYU Marriott Business Career Center (BCC). What You'll Do In This Position
- Lead the employer development process by identifying, cultivating, and strengthening relationships with recruiters, BYU alumni, and company executives
- Guide and directly supervise the Employer Development Manager and Recruiting Operations Manager
- Lead the employer engagement process and the student leadership team responsible for employer outreach
- Collaborate with the Marketing Communications team to develop content and BCC branding across digital platforms
- Attend industry conferences and external events to increase awareness of the BYU Marriott School brand and talent pool
- Host recruiters and professionals participating in on-campus recruiting or career-related events
- Support BCC engagement with BYU Marriott academic association groups
- Approve hiring, evaluating, and developing direct and indirect employees
- Develop staff and student talent through upskilling and mentoring
- Manage budgets for the Employer Development, Engagement and Recruiting Operations teams
- Direct the BCC Data Team in understanding student engagement patterns and utilizing technology to improve outcomes
- Evaluate performance and recommend process improvements for team workflows
- Oversee the Business Career Center CRM system and other career center systems
- Conduct industry research to identify companies that align with BYU Marriott's values and objectives
- Lead the BCC Information Systems team in developing CRM frameworks and reports
What Qualifies You For This Role
Required
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in corporate finance, accounting, marketing, operations, or business development
- Comfortable using the latest technology, CRM systems, recruiting systems, and career development tools
- Skilled in project management and conducting data analysis
- Experienced in collaborating across organizations to achieve stated objectives
Preferred
- Master's degree in business or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in a Fortune 500 setting with management experience
- Previous experience in higher education or career services

- Extensive professional network and ability to develop and secure new business professional relationships
- Effective communication skills via email and other communication systems
- Ability to work well with all types of BYU students
- Strong leadership capabilities to supervise managers and student teams
