We are currently seeking a Windows Enterprise Domain Administrator for a remote role in the MD/DC Metro area. The administrator must live locally in order to attend meetings onsite.

This role is responsible for the design, implementation, management, and security of complex multi-domain Windows environments, with a focus on Active Directory (AD) and Domain Name System (DNS) infrastructure. This position is critical to ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of enterprise IT infrastructure supporting national security missions.

Responsibilities
  • Architect, deploy, and maintain multi-domain Windows enterprise environments, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance with organizational and DoD standards.
  • Manage and optimize complex Active Directory forests, domains, trusts, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs), including advanced troubleshooting and migration activities.
  • Oversee and configure enterprise DNS infrastructure, including integration with AD and external DNS systems, ensuring secure and reliable name resolution across domains.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices, including patch management, access controls, and monitoring for compliance with DoD and Intelligence Community requirements.
  • Perform regular system audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation of security threats in accordance with IAT Level 2 and DoD 8570 requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior administrators and support staff.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support mission-critical applications and services.
  • Prepare and present technical documentation, reports, and briefings to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Participate in incident response, disaster recovery planning, and execution of business continuity strategies.

Qualifications
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Possess or be able to obtain at least a DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, SSCP, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, or GSEC).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience managing large-scale, multi-domain Windows enterprise environments with complex AD and DNS requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server OS, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management.
  • Experience with AD integrated DNS zones, trust relationships, and secure dynamic updates.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell) for system administration tasks.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, security controls, and compliance frameworks relevant to DoD/IC environments.
  • Preferred: Prior experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, or other federal government environments.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to brief technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in cybersecurity and enterprise IT best practices.
  • Top Secret clearance
