The Charge Nurse NICU, provides first line supervisory oversight for a specific unit during a designated shift. This role ensures that quality care is provided according to policies and procedures, that patient flow/placement is efficient and that daily staffing needs are met to assure the highest quality patient care, safety and satisfaction. The incumbent assures efficient and cost-effective utilization of hospital resources at the unit level. Works collaboratively with staff, physicians, patients and families to achieve the goals of the patient care unit. This individual will act as a role model and resource, who will provide clinical leadership to staff nurses, unit assistants, and clinical associates. Provides support, guidance, and education for staff and assists them as needed. Manages staff performance through coaching, counseling, goal setting, anecdotal and yearly evaluations. Fosters a positive unit culture as reflected in yearly associate engagement scores. Functions as an expert practitioner whose intuition and skill arise from comprehensive knowledge thoroughly grounded in experience. Additionally, this individual will be able to identify situations, formulate solutions, initiate changes and monitor outcomes. A demonstrated understanding of how their unit aligns with the strategic goals of the organization will be required.
Pay Range
Minimum $58.34 Midpoint $77.32 Maximum $96.29
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience
* Required: Minimum two (2) years of experience in clinical specialty.
* Preferred: Four (4) years of experience in clinical specialty.
Education
* Required: Graduation from an accredited school of Registered Nursing; Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) (effective on all external offers made after November 1, 2015).

* Preferred: Certified Parent Educator
