Responsibilities
What you'll do...
- Lead/Manage key areas of the upfront Electrical / Software Architecture Strategy for Manufacturing.
- Develop Electrical Architecture Bill of Process for Future Vehicles.
- Lead the development of strategies and develop plan to implement Zero Fault Forward and In Station Process Control and Test (ISPCT) with new architectures in the assembly plant and include in future vehicle plans prior to TMR.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of embedded software solutions to support the testing and diagnostic functions within the distributed test system.
- Work with PD Electrical Hardware and Software and drive the most efficient manufacturing Strategy for future vehicles.
- Provide manufacturing requirement inputs to the upfront Product Development team during the initial design of programs Pre- PS. Develop GAP, SBOP (fed into Process Sheets), Bill of Design and support Modularity API implementation.
- Collaborate with Product Development teams on the development of new vehicle architectures and customer technologies (i.e. over the air communications, modularity, cybersecurity, 5G, etc).
- Develop new GMRs that support the new architectures/features within our assembly plants that protect ergonomic, fastening, tooling, and clearance testing standards.
- Promote the usage and reuse of standard tooling and facilities (Standard Cells) to accommodate new electrical features and software on Pre-PS programs.
- Drive labor efficiency during the review of new electrical content / features development.
- Collaborate with MTD on new technologies that may be required in the implementation of new architectures/features.
- Ensure global alignment on standards and feature development.
- Work with counterparts in Vehicle Architecture and Final Assembly Engineering to quickly align on product design and manufacturing issues relative to Electrical Architecture.
- Work hours, Monday - Friday, day shift. Travel ~5% (site visits and global workshops).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 2+ years experience in Electrical Architecture both hardware and software or equivalent manufacturing experience
- Experience in software development and system design, preferably in the automotive industry
- Experience of programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python
- Working knowledge of ISPCT, Electrical Architecture Process sheets, APT, Teamcenter, PFMEA, SCCAFs, Error proofing, etc
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS degree
- Extensive knowledge of Final Assembly manufacturing processes and End-of-Line
- Working knowledge of Ford Electrical Architectures
- One major program Launch (UP / UN > 4) or discipline equivalent
- Extensive knowledge of GMRs (Global Manufacturing Requirements)
