Role Summary/Purpose:

The Tech & Ops Supplier Management leader is a critical role within the function! You will have direct oversight for a team of Supplier Managers and have strong engagement with Operations and Technology leaders in ensuring appropriate risk oversight of suppliers, understanding strategy for supplier engagement / usage, and ongoing contractual management. You will partner with relevant governance and control functions, including Source to Pay, Legal, Operational Risk, and Information Security to ensure suppliers are in full compliance with internal and external requirements, and ongoing oversight can be consistently evidenced. Additionally, you will be responsible for re-imagining supplier management across operations and technology, the engagement model across the organization, and the relative roles and responsibilities to ensure appropriate alignment to the technology and operations vision, controllership, and execution strategy.

The Tech & Ops Supplier Management Leader will be the first line of escalation for all supplier SLA misses, data breaches, governance challenge and risk mitigations, just to name a few.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Proving leadership, guidance and support to a team of supplier managers, including management of team turnover and growth
  • Refining the cross-functional engagement model designed to develop and sustain long-standing relationships with approved vendors
  • Escalation point and engagement across the function for supplier issues
  • Establishing and implementing service level agreements and standards by which to assess the performance of approved vendors, ensuring consistent application across operations and technology, and reporting on oversight activities
  • Escalating identified risk events and/or supplier concerns to senior management, including technology, operations, and Source to Pay
  • Partner with the Source to Pay team to evaluate supplier management activities and requirements to enforce compliance and identify ways to drive efficiency
  • Reviewing and approving select supplier risk events, typically in the form of formal Risk Acceptances
  • Definition and execution of supplier management and reporting tools for transparency, risk management, and decision making throughout entire supplier lifecycle
  • Identifying and driving data analytics to enhance decision making
  • Establishing vendor performance standards and suggesting improvements
  • Supporting the organization in proactive contractual oversight, including, but not limited to spend and service level management
  • Ensuring vendor activities adhere to our company policies
  • Further developing and refining supplier risk management framework
  • In partnership with Sourcing, establish and execute against a supplier strategy to optimize supplier mix, identifying growth areas, and managing supply chain risks
  • Drive consistency in supplier management across technology, operations, and collections supplier ecosystem
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • 9+ years of vendor management, logistics, or sourcing function experience and a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or equivalent, or in lieu of a degree 12+ years of experience in the credit card, financial services or gift card industries
  • 7 years of people leadership experience with a proven track record of strong leadership which includes coaching, mentoring and performance development
  • Strong presentation and communication skills and experience interacting with senior business executives
  • Proven experience with partnering, collaborating, and influencing across a large multilayered organization at all levels
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; the ability to effectively communicate workflow processes and policies with vendors will be an added advantage

Grade/Level: 14

The salary range for this position is 150,000.00 - 250,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
