Job Summary
The Group Product Manager focuses on the delivery and refinement of digital products supporting the Meter to Cash business processes to maximize business results. This role involves strategic product planning and managing technology systems for business operations. Responsibilities extend to coordinating with IT groups for troubleshooting and system enhancements, leading system installations, upgrades, and maintaining system operations. The leader must also partner effectively with a wide range of teams, including business leaders, delivery teams and external partners. The Group Product Manager embodies leadership and organizational influence, defining long-term technology strategies and leading major system enhancements.
This position reports to the Sr. Director of Utility Applications Products and Services.
Job Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities are:
Manage a technical staff, hands-on IT professionals and other vendor support personnel to ensure application availability meet SLAs and business needs.
Drives and executes projects within the assigned Business Unit domain. Partners with IT and business leadership and other key stakeholders to define opportunities and to identify and prioritize products based on predefined criteria (business outcomes, return on investment, productivity, compliance).
Developing and executing a comprehensive product strategy aligned with PSEG's overall business goals, identifying market opportunities, and analyzing customer needs to drive product innovation.
Plan, manage, oversee and maintain budgets of more than $10M annually, provide accurate forecasts, and variance explanations for the associated area of accountability and departmental budget including adhering to all budgeting/spending guidelines, identifying cost reduction opportunities and ensuring accurate maintenance and licensing compliance.
Oversee projects to ensure they are delivered on time, on budget with high quality in accordance with the IT PMO Stage Gate Process
Provide timely updates, including project status reports and operational metrics to key project stakeholders and senior IT leadership.
Establish priorities of the product backlog (Features and Technical Debt) in collaboration with the Business and Product Teams.
Encourage the development of team member core competencies and foster an environment of open knowledge sharing.
Seeks opportunities to highlight how digital business initiatives will potentially impact enterprises' economic architecture and metrics.
Constructs technology-enabled operating models and provides viable options and visibility to execution issues.
Job Specific Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or Information Sciences preferred, MBA, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of work experience in technology solution engineering. 15+ years of work experience in technology solution engineering without a degree.
Extensive technical and functional experience in the development and support of IT systems. Preferred in 'Meter To Cash' and utilities with proven experience in SAP and Advanced Metering Infrastructure.
Deep experience translating business outcomes, business requirements and technical requirements into technical designs for new technology solutions or enhancements to existing technology solutions, while following architectural standards and organizational policies.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities through technology solution ownership and adoption, projects or other work experiences.
Knowledge of system monitoring tools and commands to ensure quick and efficient resolution of issues.
Exposure to Cybersecurity concepts and best practices.
Proven ability to work independently and multi-task effectively with strong analytical ability, problem solving skills, and attention to details.
Expertise in technology resource management, job positions, career paths, recruiting, and compensation.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication and facilitation skills; demonstrated ability to foster working relationships with the team, IT Management and Client departments.
Preferred:
Proficient in technologies related to the following processes: Meter Reading, Bill Print, Collections, Payment processing, Energy Supplier Services, Service Now.
Knowledge of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) functionality and integration with related systems primarily billing and outage management systems.
Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas), Platform as a Service (Paas), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analysis.
